MyVegas and OBC

Hi, I used to play MyVegas years ago and was only made aware that you can redeem points for OBC (score!). I have enough points for OBC; however I am wondering if it can be applied to bookings made in AUD?

Also, I will become platinum after my next cruise next year. Will I still be able to get platinum discounts on the booking if applying MyVegas OBC?

Thanks for your help! :D

I don’t know about the AUD question but you can use other discounts along with it.

We just booked a cruise and used a $750 credit from our RCCL Visa points and also our C&A Diamond balcony discount. I then redeemed 50,000 MyVegas points for $100 OBC.

A week on the Harmony in a balcony cabin (2 people) next year ended up costing us $1,604 - $750 = $854 plus $100 OBC from the sale and another $100 OBC from MyVegas points. So $654 for 2 in a balcony cabin when you include the OBC credits.

Thanks for the clarification - that is good to know. I have enough points to redeem for OBC for 2 or 3 cruises... just have to find out if they can be applied onto cruises booked in AUD.

I do have a couple cruises that were booked in USD, so I will find out whether it would be beneficial adding the OBC to either cruise.

Thanks again!

What, exactly, can you use the OBC for? Gambling? Drinks? Spa?

Anything you can charge onboard (including gratuities), except for booking a new cruise.

With regard to gambling, RC only takes cash in the casino, but you can get a cash advance at the casino cashier for a 5% fee.

Has anyone used myVegas rewards from a husband and wife on the same cruise? Thanks

Only one certificate per cabin. Also the certificate must be APPLIED less than 30 days after the booking is made.

If this can help, I book my cruises in Canadian dollars and still was able to use MyVegas points to buy OBC

So, if I have booked 2 cabins (with 2 different booking numbers) can I redeem 2 rewards and have 1 for each cabin then?

OK after over a a month of back and forth with both Royal's casino department and our travel agent I found out that my certificate from MyVegas will not be honored. Even though it was submitted following the instructions and within the time limits.

The REASON, I have an M-Life # on file w/ C&A from a Celebrity cruise 2 years ago. They said I will get the casino benefits due for my M-Life status but can't tell me what they are, and direct me to contact M-Life by calling the CS number that came with my card. The problem being I don't have a card or benefits flyer with a contact #.

So I'm now out he reward points from the MyVegas redemption and no casino credit. Any ideas on how to remedy?

We didn’t remember the ‘within 30 days of booking’ rule and have missed that point.

Has anyone ever been able to redeem after that point?

Or... my brother/wife just booked, would we be able to redeem it for them?

Just saw your comment ...

As far as I know the person redeeming the certificate must be the MyVegas player named on the certificate and booked to that cabin. So if you have 2 adults that have points to get certificates even if on the same general booking, as long as in different cabins they are each able to redeem a certificate.

BUT I would double check when submitting the first certificate. Then if RC says OK then order the second certificate and apply it as soon as you get it. (As long as it's within whatever the current TOU MyVegas is imposing.)

Was anyone able to redeem an OBC credit if you booked your cruise through an agent or specifically American Airlines Cruises? The terms says has to be booked direct with Royal. We are still within the 30 days... wouldn’t mind getting a $100 OBC too.

I don't have a solid answer for you, but you can always submit the reward and see if they apply it. We originally booked through RCL, but transferred to a TA, then repriced our cruise, did my MyVegas reward, repriced for a different cabin type and submitted dh's reward. When we submitted for my reward, they stated my TA would have to call in, but bc they messed up a couple things, the RCL personnel I spoke with applied my OBC on the spot. When I submitted DH's reward, they applied it without my TA having to call in, so honestly, it seems like it depends on the worker at RCL. Good luck!
