Azura in Hamburg - getting to anywhere?

it looks like Azura will be using the Steinwerder terminal in Hamburg. According to knowledgeable people on cruisecritic there is no public transport to anywhere and a set of wheels is necessary. Do P&O provide transport off the dock or will we need to get a taxi?

I have only been to the 2 other berths (Hafen City & Altona) so I don’t know what P&O might offer from Steinwerder.

I can say that they put on a regular shuttles from the Altona berth last year so they may do the same here. One way to try to find out is to look at the excursions on offer, if they offer a “Hamburg on your own” then chances are you won’t get a shuttle right into the middle of town.

There are apparently public transport options, google the port and you will get the details. There is a water bus on week days only and a shuttle to take pax to connect with other forms of public transport options.

Perhaps someone on here will be able to give you information from direct experience of being at this berth.

We used it from Altona. Very efficient. Take small Euros or be prepared to use a credit card. I think the fare was 1.60. Ticket machines on the vessels, with queues of Brits trying to find enough coins, etc! ;)

The Port of Hamburg says it is Steinwerder.

I'm sure there will be a shuttle bus in. then you can do water tours or the Hop On bus which was excellent.

Ooh that's handy to know as we are on the same cruise. I thought we were going to a port where we would be able to wonder in to town.
