frankc98376 Posted May 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2018 We are sailing out of San Diego next year on Nieuw Amsterdam on April 28. Schedule shows a Disney ship will be in the same day. Was curious how it is determined which ship has the gangway side of the terminal and which is on the "tent" side.
CruiserBruce Posted May 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2018 I would think if one ship is starting a cruise there, loading pax and resupplying, they would get the better facilities. If both are starting a cruise there, then considerations of ship size, handling and port/sea conditions take charge. You do know they have three possible docking locations, two of which have standard Terminal access?
frankc98376 Posted May 16, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted May 16, 2018 Thanks- wasn't sure if they were using the new Broadway terminal for the bigger ships
frankc98376 Posted May 16, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted May 16, 2018 Both ships will be starting cruises. Disney Wonder is slightly smaller than Nieuw Amsterdam. I read in the San Diego Union some time back that the new Broadway terminal was only being used when 3 ships were in. I though I saw on here that there were problems with the new terminal that required construction. Haven't been in San Diego terminal with two ships in. Do they use separate entrances? I've only seen the one check in area after security.
