We are going to Croatia on Silversea. Is it worth taking the excursions they offer, or should we arrange our own private tours?

Wonderful Country. It really depends on what you want to see. We went the private route in this port because we wanted to get into the interior of the countryside, as well as enjoy fresh mussels and oysters that are harvested there.

Thanks, I was looking at a private tour with an oyster stop in Ston. If you have any suggestions I would be interested. We are doing Croatia in July.

In Hvar we did the jeep 4x4 tour offered by Silversea. It was great.

Next time we tried to book our own private jeep tour, but there were none available as all the jeeps were commandeered by the group!

Hvar is very, very crowded in the summer months.

We took a few of the complimentary excursions arranged by Silversea on our cruise and were very happy with them. It depends on what you are interested in - but if you are just looking for a 2-hour overview, they are fine.
