Our TA is giving is one of the NCL coupon books -- I believe this is the one that says up to $400 that I have seen a few of the TAs offering as part of recent promotions.

Has anyone gotten these recently? Do you know what coupons are included?

The following is the copy of the coupon book description from one of the traveling web site. My TA is also offering it to sweet the deal (however she is only offering one coupon book). I mentioned some web site is offering two and she said she could match it.

To my understanding this coupon book is only offered to US residents *(Canadian don't get them unless they have a US address). Try to ask your agent to throw in two books...... I do not know whether they allow you to use two books on the same sailings or not. It seems the book is valid into Jun 2010.

See the following copies:

Book a qualifying 2-night and longer cruise on Norwegian Cruise Line and receive two onboard cruise certificate booklets (the “Offer”). Sale begins 12:01am Central Time ("CT") on September 25, 2009 and ends at 11:59pm CT on October 31, 2009 (the "Offer Period").

  • This Offer is valid only for qualifying Norwegian Cruise Line cruise bookings made during the Offer Period.
  • This Offer is applicable on all 2-night and longer Norwegian Cruise Line sailings that depart between November 13, 2009 and June 30, 2010.
  • Two (2) certificate booklets will be issued for each qualifying stateroom prior to sailing. Certificate booklets will be sent to the first passenger listed on the reservation and will be sent prior to your departure date. No compensation will be given should your certificate booklets not be received prior to sailing as we are not responsible for delivery delays or any other circumstances beyond our control.
  • There is no cash value for unused certificates or portions of certificates. Cruise certificates are non-transferable and must be redeemed on a qualifying Norwegian Cruise Line sailing on or before June 30, 2010. Only original certificates will be accepted. Photocopies will be not accepted.
  • Coupons are accepted at the ships discretion.
  • All eligible Norwegian Cruise Line sailings and ships will be tagged on the website through promotional messaging and a 0751105735849346_PROMOICON.gif icon.
  • Guests who previously booked, cancel, and then rebook during this period are not eligible.
  • Purchasers must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older at the time of booking, and be a legal resident of the United States or Canada to book and travel on one of the qualifying Norwegian Cruise Line’s cruises.
  • All rates and offers are in US dollars. Prices are not guaranteed until the booking has been confirmed.
  • Passengers are responsible for obtaining all proper travel documentation, including any necessary travel visas or any kind of other travel documentation required to travel internationally if international travel is involved. It is the traveler's responsibility to travel with the required documents. No refunds will be made if improper documentation results in denied boarding or entry.
  • Not responsible for technical, hardware, software, or telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable Internet connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions that may limit a participant's ability to take part in this Offer.
  • By participating in this Offer, participants agree to be bound by these Official Terms and Conditions
  • Offer is based on availability. All cruises are capacity controlled and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.

I left ours in our room with a note to our steward that perhaps the next guests may be able to use any of them ...They were worthless to us :( But maybe you can use them? I wouldnt base my choice of TA on whether they offer the book or not...

To me they are useless.:( I sure wouldn't book with a TA only because they offered this.

They have had better coupons in the past in these books. A couple of times we have gotten them and they had buy one dinner in a specialty restaurant get a free specialty restaurant covered. I also have used the photo one in the past if you bought two 8x10's get 1 free. Just seemed like better coupons before.

I wouldn't book based on the coupons. Also, sometimes someone on the board will have extras and send them to other CC members who have not gotten them.

Enjoy!

I hope they bring back better coupons...I hear that the old ones were MUCH better...My TA even led me on as to what they were...apparently she still thought they were the good ones :( She told me there would be free drink coupons, buy one get one dinners, etc.. NOTHING even close

Wouldnt they rather have my $10 for 2 dinners than $0? I dont go to specialty restaurants (unless hubby REALLY wants sushi  ) but I probably would if there were deals...I'm sure I'm not the only one!

I, too was under the impression the coupons were better than what is now being offered. We had a booklet we used on the NCL Sun in 2007 and it had several worthwhile coupons. Now, it seems to be very little in the way of savings. I'm glad OP opened this thread. Our TA is offering us a choice of this coupon book, 5 days in Hawaii or 5 days in FL in addition to our OBC. Definitely a no brainer for me.

I also feel the coupon book is nearly usless. That being said, we normally cruise with RCCL and Celebrity and their coupon books have also been rendered usless. Seems like all the cruise lines are cutting back.

Is the one mentioned for the free Tex/Mex with purchase of dinner at Le Bistro not included in your book?

"Ditto" The only one we used was buy one glass of wine and get a second one free. Left the rest on a table in the Grand Foyer. Went by a few minutes later and they were gone. Either an efficient steward threw them away or someone was able to use something in the book. Don't book a cruise or chose a TA because of these. Not worth anything! ;)
