Haven't done it but recommend you go to Explorers desk to cancel in person.

Our Viking info said that you can't cancel 1st couple days excursions but stated that later excursions could be cancelled with a couple days (from memory) prior notice. Suggest contact Viking for official policy.

That policy is for paid excursions only. Included tours can be canceled at any time (except the two week window between advanced booking closing and boarding the ship.

You should be able to cancel any excursion on MVJ up to two weeks before departure (because that is when online booking closes). After that, except for paid excursions on the first couple of days, you can cancel on board up x-many hours in advance of the tour--and you can find out for sure how many hours that is when you board. It will be included in the info when you board with regular updates throughout the cruise.

As for included tours, if you haven't canceled on line, just turn your tickets in at the shorex desk on Deck 1, even for tours on Day 2 or 3.

You may cancel your booked included excursion online, prior to boarding the ship so that the spaces can be made available to others.

Just click on a series of links to bring up this particular booked excursion, then click on the "LEARN MORE" button. A small window will pop up to show each of your names and the time slot you have booked. To the right of each of your names there is a "CANCEL RESERVATION" button. Click on that to cancel your reserved included excursion.

So Peregrina... am I understanding that you can cancel non-included (paid for) excursions once you're onboard? Do they reimburse your card if you paid with a CC or OBC if you used that?

Thank you and all the others who have given out such great info. It is very much appreciated:D

I haven't canceled an excursion on board so I can't tell you exactly how the money is handled but I think that it goes as a credit on your on board account and not back to the credit card you used for the purchase. Just remember that tours must be canceled at least 36(?) hours in advance of tour departure; the exact number of hours will be in either the info booklet in your "docs" package or in the information awaiting you in your cabin.

Definitely cancel any included excursions you won't be using. Viking guarantees that all cruisers go on an included excursion in each port - unless, of course, the port is one in which the ship is embarking or disembarking passengers, with no overnight. While everyone gets on the included excursion, some people may want to go at an earlier or later time, so turning in your tickets (or canceling) may help those people. It may also make Viking's job easier.
