Drink Package in Port

Recommended Posts

The only I ask is because I thought I read a disclaimer that it may not work while in some ports.

It is a good question, but in the Caribbean, it will work in any port. The disclaimer is for some ports in Middle East, where they have some extremely strict laws on booze, where it is basically "banned" you will have it not served in dock. So basically, any country can make or change a law at any time, so the lawyers have it in the disclaimer!

Because of the package and the fact we have been to most of the islands many times we stay on ship for at least some of the ports, ship is normally nice and quiet and no problem getting chairs by the pool

The package is also somewhat limited when in Galveston due to the Texas liquor laws. They can only serve alcohol that was purchased in Texas I believe so they have a more limited variety until the ship hits international waters aka when the casino opens :D Least that was our experience 3 years ago.

...scratching the Middle East off the bucket list.

Oh okay, in that case, yes the drink packages will work while you're in St Maarten and St Thomas. Texas has a limited menu until you sail away, and I'm not sure about European rules. But as far as the Caribbean goes, you can stay on the ship and use your package as usual. That makes a lot more sense than using the drink package on the island, haha. However the island of Labadee is a different story; you can use the package there because it's owned by Royal.
