Jordan visa

Hi! We are cruising on Vision of the Seas in April and are booked on the Petra excursion. I have found information that says the ship organises visas for Jordan on arrival. Is this true? We don't want to miss our excursion if it takes time? Any info would be great, thanks!!

Does anyone know if all cruise lines do the visas for you to Jordan? Are there any others needed for places like Oman or Dubai? Any help is greatly appreciated. Just booked the cruise late last night and been on hold with the cruise line now for 25 minutes and told to keep holding. Figured at this rate, I may get an answer faster here. Ugh!

Azamara certainly organises visas in the Middle East - Jordan, Oman, UAE.

Cruise ship passengers are regarded as 'in transit' and therefore do not require a visa. The regulations state this applies to stays of up to 24 hours although two day visits have been classed as 'in transit'. The ship will collect passports and the Jordanian authorities will endorse them with entry and exit stamps. There is no requirement for passengers to stand in line and present their passports personally.
