So, how the the average condition of the ship? Several people have posted that it looks tired, and a few pics were posted recently that were hardly flattering. We're sailing on her in 3 weeks.

Also, can you comment on the stewards, wait staff and bar staff?

We are not highly critical people, so the condition of the ship was OK to us. They were constantly cleaning, scraping and painting. As I understand it, the Crown goes into drydock for some needed renovation in April?

MDR wait staff is severly understaffed, so allow plenty of time if you dine there. I always carried a glass of wine from vines inside and immediately ordered a second upon being seated.

Room steward was efficient. Always made our room when we were out and requested service. bed made, fresh towels, trash removed, clean glasses and Ice replenished. Nothing more, nothing less:cool:

Bar Staff - Carman in Vines - Excellent, Cherry in Wheelhouse Bar - Excellent ( we had actually seen her on the Caribbean Princess on a Halloween cruise last year, and Carmen stated she was on board and working in the Wheelhouse Bar. Crooners bar - wait staff - efficient ( person at the piano was the absolute worst we had ever seen in any lounge on ANY cruise ship including our one and only on Barnival cruise line. Pool bar staff were all excellent. attentive , funny. Tradewinds and Outrigger bars were our go to bars during the day

Deck 14 - Aft - Interior - easy access to the rear door where you take about 6 steps up to the adult pool, then up a set of steps to Deck 15 to the Outrigger bar. then its easy access to Horizon bistro and court for a snack if needed

Can’t resist this question (asked in jest, though DH might want to know for our Dec Crown cruise):

What was the predominant butter count per table or person? ;) :')

3 wrapped pats for a 2 person table. Request more as soon as you sit down if that is going to not be enough. MDR people are way understaffed it seems:cool:

We are going on the Crown in late Feb. We were on her last year and main dining service was really bad. Specialty restaurants not much better. I spoke to the head food person wasted time. Too many pay venues with no additional staff. We have 10 cruises with Princess if no improvement we will find something else to do. Not the fault of the staff they did their best.

Anytime, and we went early - before 7 both on formal night - don't even get me started on the pathetic 'surf and turf', and the next night - our only 2 nights in the mdr on the 5 nights

We like to eat in MDR 2nd seating. That doesn't seem as popular to people. Maybe it won't be too busy.

We are going on Crown for 5B2B cruises starting in January. Very concerned about the beds. We are in a suite and hopefully they put the new beds in there early.

Who was the MD on the cruise?

Never had to go to the infirmary , so have no clue who the MD was? or if was a MD or an OD. you should check before you leave if you have issues that need to be attended at sea by an MD:evilsmile:

Sorry, I meant the maitre'd in dining room.
