Poas Volcano Tours

Are there tours available from Puerta Caldera (Puntarenas) Costa Rica to the Poas Volcano?

Have you checked whether Poas is open? When we were in Costa Rica in January this year it was closed as it erupted in 2017.

Hi and thanks for your reply. Poas Volcano NP is currently closed due to volcanic activity. We are planing a cruise for March of next year. We will stop at Puerta Caldera (Puntarenas) for a day and would like to visit Poas Volcano NP if it is open. I am trying to find out if there are tours to the volcano and so far have not found any. You might want to contact Odyssey Tours. They operated a lot of tours for Azamara passengers including us on our Costa Rica cruise, including transfers. http://odysseytourscr.com

They were very happy to adapt tours to meet our needs, so it’s probably worth contacting them

Poas volcano is not open yet, but it sounds like it might be opening in April. There´s been volunteer work these past weeks on trails and facilities.
