Amsterdam terminal to airport luggage question.

Not sure why you would not just take it to the hotel to avoid it getting lost somewhere. You will still be taking something to the hotel anyways - carry on, change of clothes, personal stuff.

 

I know not everyone can do it, but we finally learned to travel with one carryon bag and have done it for 2 weeks trips with no problem. We take it on the plane with us, the train, the cab, whatever. Again, not everyone can or wants to do that.

Beware! Amsterdam Airport has a Black Hole into which luggage disappears, especially luggage belonging to transit passengers. Transit passengers are well advised to pack some spare clothes in their cabin baggage to cater for this eventuality. Also, do not allow your airline to put your cabin baggage (containing meds, valuables, travel documents and other valuables) in the hold if passing through Amsterdam. This advice is based on personal experiences -- once bitten . . .

If am forced to check any of my carry on bags, I make sure to remove meds, electronics and valuables before handing them over.
