bushfam Posted April 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2018 My wife and I have a GME and Uniden 2-way radio that we use here in Australia. Is there anyone who can tell us whether these radios will work in Dubai, Italy, Greece and Spain? Are there any laws that would prevent us taking them out of Australia and using them in these countries? Has anyone had any experience or tips that they could pass onto us regarding these. Many thanks. Stephen and Sandra:)

I am sure that you can do some research on Google to find out. 3) Don 't take them. There are loads of threads on CC and the unanimous opinion on all of them is that everyone on the ship will hate you if you bring them. ilikeanswers Posted April 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2018 There are apps that can turn your phone into a walkie talkies. I don't know how effective they are but might be something to look into.
lisiamc Posted April 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 21, 2018 It sounds like you’re planning to use them ashore, which won’t annoy your fellow cruise passengers. But sometimes the frequencies that are assigned to consumer use in one country are used for emergency services or similar in another country, so that’s worth checking. It’s way outside of anything I know about, but Google is likely to have something about it.
