Carnival Cruise Lines Guarantees Satisfaction or Your Money Back

It will be interesting to see how this really works and benefit Carnival. You do have some passengers that complains about everything. There are also those that just because they know this program is in place will find something to complain. I'm just wondering if this will not be abused by some guest.

Some people will for sure take advantage of this. Just saw it on their website. No questions asked. Don't agree. There would be plenty of questions before I just paid for someone's way back home after they've sailed and decided it was THAT unbearable. Don't see the benefit to Carnival but somebody came up with the idea, so hope they have it all worked out.

IMO this is an unbelievable vote of confidence in their product by Carnival. I suspect this may rear up and bite the company.

Especially by not improving the product first.

But, after seeing whose idea this master plan belongs to, I am not surprised.

Big deal. You get a "free" 23 hours on a ship, most of that time in the dark. Plus you will surely be banned from ever claiming it again. Are port fees and taxes refundable?

Useless to all but the hardest core scrounger and maybe not even them.

Huh? 100 OBC and you think they are not invited back.

And read the program again. You have 24 hours to state you are taking them up on their offer. You could possibly be on the shop another 2 fill days.

Have no clue what dark you speak of.

Wait untill they find out they get a 3 connection flight home. And it's going to take 19 hours to fly back to Florida. Maybe that might change there mind

Imagine if that got out. Another PR nightmare. One call to CNN and it would be the opening story.

This will definitely be interesting to see how it all plays out and if someone makes a claim with them and gets booted at the first port.

I'm being optimistic in hoping that this might turn around some positive customer satisfaction during the cruise when people have a legitimate complaint. I know there are a lot of chronic complainers that no matter what you do, they will not be satisfied. But those that have legitimate concerns, maybe Carnivals customer satisfaction is about to improve. I'm being hopeful (although I really only had 1 complaint from our recent 1st Carnival experience and I did not bring it to anyone's attention, so therefore totally my fault...I'm not a complainer as you can tell and I find it hard to believe that any cruise can be a bad cruise. :))

On my last cruise we could have used this guarantee. Our actions wasn't working called for help and they came look at it, turn something in the vent still didn't cool they brought us a fan. My dad had the same problem in his room...

Exact same thing happened to us........fan and all!!!! I even took my pillow and laid down near guest relations because it was cool there, Security escorted me back to my hot room. Our next cruise has a balcony!!

Based on the wide ranging socio-economic background of carnival cruisers, I would expect that there may be a small segment who will try and abuse this new program. But also, I suspect that it is not as easy as Carnival purports it to be. I have not read the finest of the fine print for this marketing initiative, but I really doubt that Carnival is going to overly expose themselves economically with this offer. I just have a sneaking feeling that it's not as easy as Carnival says.

It's primary purpose is to create a buzz and keep the Carnival name out there, which it is certainly doing.

LOL they have been offering this for years and years... Only difference is a small credit to use on another trip with them....

Now, if a trip was THAT BAD that they wanted to vacate the ship, less then 24 hours in... Do you REALLY think they will be back to use the tiny credit?

Carnival has offered "The best Vacation Guarantee, you will never use" for 15 plus years...

Tell them you hate it by the first port (yes, you USED to have till the first port, now you only have 24 hours) and they fly you back to the home port...

This is nothing new, just fresh marketing...

First of all, the old version only gave you the refund of the unused portion of your cruise.

This one gives you a full refund, plus 10%. So could make $500 On a superior balcony, or better, by just notifying them.

And if it's harder than "just notifying" them for "any reason", it's already false advertising.

In theory, I could book a suite on a Vancouver to Hawaii cruise, if I were a complainer, file a complaint within 24 hours and continue to sail for 5 days to the first port - Honolulu.

Then Carnival would fly me home for free, OR, I just ditch the airfare and continue with a land based Hawaiian vacation having just received free passage and board.

It's not going to be that easy.

so carnival tweaked their long standing guaranty and got fresh media coverage. I believe its just the start or a good comprehensive campaign to get their image up. which is good for all us , as during this campaign the prices will remain low.

one mis - calculation

I do believe their disdain for cruise critic will grow to.

soon we will see threads ways to invoke, and make money on it...
