Table minimums

Apostle

Recommended Posts

Hi, i'm travelling on the grand princess soon and was wondering what the table minimums were for roulette (inside and out) and bj.

Last of the big spenders I know!!

Will probably just be having 4 $50 sessions throughout the cruise.

Also a question about 3 card poker. i was a at casino recently (here in england) and i played this for the first time. The dealer said as a minimum you had to bet on the ante and the pair, and that the pair bet must equal the ante. I went on a free to practice website, someone posted the link for on here, and it let me bet on either/or without making me bet on both. Which is correct, and again what's the minimum stake on princess.

Thanks.

I haven't sailed on the Grand, but have been on the Coral recently. I can't say definitely that the minimums are fleet wide, but it's a start for you. There were three Blackjack tables (the Grand is a bigger ship, probably has more tables for Blackjack).

Minimums were $5 (the only smoking-allowed table in the entire casino), $10 and $25. Generally only the $5 was very busy, and all the regulars played there every night. CSM with six decks. Dealer hits soft 17, no Surrender, and Blackjack pays 3-2.

I can't tell you anything definite about roulette. But I seem to have the impression (can't say where I picked this up) that outside is a dollar, inside 50 cents, total must be at least $5 for the player.

I don't know anything about 3 card poker.

Shalom. Andy

Pair plus is an optional bet,not a required bet. You must equal your ante to stay in the game or fold.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I've been reading up a lot about craps the last couple of days as well. It's not something the casinos have in England but it's always intersted me. Need to make sure i'm not a total novice before I go. Don't want to be the guy asking all the questions, slowing the table down!

3 Card Poker will most likely have $5 minimums for the Pair Plus, Ante and Play spots. You can bet one spot, the pair plus, 2 spots the Ante and Play (Providing you have a good enough hand to play the Play) or all 3. Not sure if that game is found on the cruise ships or not, i don't play it. Most likely the table minimums on all games will be $5 or $10, all depends on the time of day/night and how busy they are. $5 cumulative inside on the wheel and $5 for each outside bet.

RE: Three Card Poker - It depends on where you are. I have been in casinoes where you can play only the Pairs Plus and I have been in casinoes where you have to play the ante in order to play the Pairs Plus.

I have never been to one where you were required to play the Pairs Plus in addition to the ante, but I would not doubt that there are casinoes with that rule somewhere.

Each casino can make their own rules, so that is why you are seeing conflicting information.

Typically casinoes in the same locale (Vegas, Atlantic City, etc) will all usually use the same rules, but not 100%.

Regarding 3 Card Poker, it has been on every ship I have been on. However, you are not allowed to play just the Pair Plus alone, when on the ship. It must be in combination with regular bet.
I wonder why that is, that bet has the greater house advantage.

My answers are based solely on the Las Vegas market.

On the NCL Pearl you are allowed to play two hands, with the second hand betting pair plus only and played "in the dark".
