Just be nice to people. All it takes.

Plus buying a liter of vodka on the last night of a B2B.

when I was younger strong was the way to go, then I discovered weaker was better, better a buzz than passing out and waking up and not wanting to do any thing but lie there

My last two cruise we had deluxe drink pkg but we noticed that the drinks are not strong like they were in the past. I would wait until pina colada complete then ask for Capt Morgan on top. I think they do try to keep us in line

I love a strong drink.

But then my drink of choice is a dry gin martini... (basically just ice cold neat gin with a twist of lemon).

I watch my drinks being made cuz I'm interested in how they do it and on our last month cruise on Liberty, they did use a shot glass, but poured until it overflowed by a bunch. I also ordered several doubles and they poured the same shot twice. I have never had a deliberately weakened drink on any RCCL ship. Got my buzz on whenever and where ever.

If they use a shot glass, wouldn't that be considered a standard 1.5 oz pour? I wouldn't consider that weak... but rather standard. Unless some people consider anything other than strong to be weak. In Vegas, comped drinks are starting to show up with a 1.2 oz or less pour. Now that is what I consider weak!

I mean.... have you tried specifying you want it stronger?

In the UK if you go to the bar and ask for "a gin and tonic, please" will more than likely get you a single shot of gin and some tonic water. If you want a double you ask for a "double gin and tonic" or a "large gin and tonic".

I ALWAYS specify a "large gin and tonic"

Yeah, a shot glass would be at least 1.5oz. I have seen them use a jigger which would also likely be 1.5oz.

We have always had to ask for our drinks to not be so strong! Would be on the floor otherwise!

So very true John. Also have never ever had a weak drink in the CL or the casino, come to think of it have never had a weak drink period on RCL. Will be on Grandeur in August hope to dispel this fantasy regarding weak drinks....K.O.

The pricing was ridiculous. Royal Signature cocktails were $17, Royal cocktails were $14, and favorites were $11-$11.50. Then there was the pre-mixed crap that sold for $8.50. This was the Cosmo and Jack 'n Coke among others, they poured it out of a plastic jug.
It just goes to show how different perceptions can be. We were on the same cruise and I found most cocktails way too strong. They tasted like pure alcohol and I could not taste the other ingredients.

Am aboard Freedom in the Mediterranean. They're using "Jiggers" (shot measures with one half a single shot, the other half a double shot). But then they're free pouring into the drinks after. So it's all good.
