New england cruise

Thinking of taking cruise out of Baltimore. Is there a subway, etc. from Baltimore to DC to do some precruise sightseeing? Also hotels that offer free shuttle to port and parking while in cruise? Many thanks

Amtrak and local rail transit (METRA I believe the name is) have large, well established transit systems. A quick Google search will get you lots of info.

Many thanks and I've seen recommendations on Best Western in Baltimore. Would everyone agree?

We're sailing from Baltimore in January - so weather might not be ideal, but the Inner Harbor area seem the best for some pre-cruise time. DC is an easy train/local transit ride away.

Take the MARC to DC. Much cheaper than Amtrak.

Amtrak between Washington DC and Baltimore is a good option.

My DH and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Baltimore. It was right next door to the Casino and they provided both covered and open parking with your room. Their shuttle took us over to the pier and picked us up at the end of the cruise. The wait when we got back was a bit longer that I liked but outside of that it worked out fin. This hotel is also within walking distance of the Baseball Stadium and several people went to a ball game the night before the cruise. We ate supper at the Casino and just relaxed in our room in the evening.
