Several questions about the Wind Spirit

Hi there - several of us will be taking our first WindStar cruise later this year on board the Wind Spirit in French Polynesia. Does the Wind Spirit have afternoon tea? If it does where would we find it?

Also, are you allowed to take food off of the ship? Perhaps a sandwich or some such?

Looking forward to your responses.

There is beverage service throughout the day which includes hot tea, and there are usually some little nibbles out, but they don't offer a "served afternoon tea". We have gotten sandwiches before an excursion and taken them with up in our tote bag, I'm not sure what the actual policy is, but no one seems to care.

There used to be afternoon tea at 4:00 pm out by the pool bar. Did they discontinue that? It was such a lovely touch!

There is stuff put out at that time in a "serve yourself" style. I had the impression the OP was asking about an actual served afternoon tea, in grand hotel style. That they do not do.

Thanks for the responses! As long as we can have some little treats at 4pm it doesn't matter whether it's a buffet style or served. But this is something that still happens on the Wind Spirit?

As far as taking food off the ship - were those ship excursions? Or organized on your own?

There is always food available on WS throughout the day. Breakfast-ish stuff and coffee before the Veranda opens, sandwiches during the day and some sort of buffet spread in the last afternoon - maybe cheese, some fruit, little sandwiches etc.

I don't remember when we took sandwiches, but WS doesn't check bags as you depart ship so there's nothing to worry about, if you want a sandwich have them make you one. We actually generally find it a nice break to have lunch at a restaurant on shore so would only be concerned if it were a destination where we didn't expect any services.

You can also order room service at any time, so that's another option. The restriction is that it must be delivered to your room, but there's then nothing to stop you from taking it on deck - we've certainly done this in nice weather, that's another option for a late afternoon nosh.

There was generally a plate with some fresh fruit available in our room, so we appreciated that. And, frankly, the food was so good that we never went hungry! They also have bottled water available for you to take in the lounge before you head out on an excursion. A good thing to remember in the tropics! Snacks are sometimes included by some of the excursion vendors.
