Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a rough idea of when 2018 cruises for Norwegian Joy will be available for booking? Currently, NCL website only has cruises for November and December 2017 onboard Norwegian Joy. I'm looking to book an Asia cruise for 2018 but NCL only has 3 cruises onboard the Jewel.

Thanks!

Joy itineraries only seem to be available on short notice through ncl main page. Most are sold to travel agents in China and only if they have problems to fill the ship, other markets are allowed to book...

If you are considering a cruise on Joy, please be aware that it caters to Chinese citizens exclusively and the cruise experience will be VERY different from what you are used to. There are some chinese YouTube reviews with english subtitles you can google to get an idea.

The ship looks like a real trip. Largest casino and shopping mall in the fleet. No pool, 4 hot tubs. Instead of the pool you get a fake plastic garden to stroll in. Lots of shade. Laser tag, go karts, 8 Karaoke bars, tea rooms. Mostly buffet dining. Mandarin signage. 4000 pushy people.

Hi! We sailed on the Joy this December.

1) There's a small pool and a few hot tubs.

2) Signage was in Mandarin and English.

3) Most staff knew enough English to be helpful.

4) There were always a few American food options at the buffet.

Yes, the guests were mostly Chinese. Yes, they have some cultural differences (mainly voice volume and personal space in lines/elevators), but nothing like what I'd read on some of these message boards. We went in expecting this, but also understanding that we wanted to experience other cultures, which this trip allowed us to do.

We really enjoyed ourselves.

Kayola, did you take a lot of pictures of your trip? I'm very curious to know more about others' experiences on the Joy:)

Do you recall age/height restrictions for the gocarts and lasertag? My boys are 7 and 10 and I'm hoping they can experience it.
