For those interested the Norwegian Star has taken out the water slides on the pool deck.

Also Spice H2o has been added, taking out the children's area aft of the ship.

Just got an email from them.

Was this part of a scheduled dry dock? What was the motivation I wonder?

Yes, it was part of drydock, all done now.

Motivation? I'm not sure. Perhaps $$$?

Maybe it's based on the ships demographics and what people wanted? Who knows?

NCL just emailed us a letter about the changes - pools and slides. We aren’t bringing kids so no worries here.

We got the email today also. We aren't sailing until next March so note sure what generated it. My son also got one. We aren't sailing with children and he's sailing with 10 month twins so the slide didn't upset either one of us. Our experience had been it never really worked that great. We would watch people on it and they seemed to get stuck as much as they slid. But we enjoyed watching them.
