Zuiderdam Midship Deck 5 Balcony?

Just a quick question, we are getting ready to book Zuiderdam, Midship, Deck 5 Balcony cabin, but in looking at the deck plans, it looks like lifeboats are directly below us. Wouldn't this cause a bit of an obscure view of the sea or below us? Thoughts?

I have stayed in cabin 5106 on the Eurodam which also has the lifeboats directly below and yes it did block our view of the ocean looking down, but not looking directly out to sea, also the balcony was a little smaller. For us, this was ok as we liked the location of being mid-ships and close to everything.

Hope this helped and you enjoy your cruise.

See http://halfacts.com/5112-noordam-v/

If you pick a cabin that's between the ends of two lifeboats it's a little better.

See http://halfacts.com/5071-zuiderdam-v/

Also, it's better to be forward of the glass elevators, over the non-tender lifeboats rather than over the tenders aft of mid-ship which are much higher.

If you are proned to motion sickness, I would not suggest forward or aft parts of the ship, I find you can feel the motion a little more than mid-ships, also be aware, some of the very forward balcony cabins have steel rails instead of the plexi-glass rails.

We recently completed a voyage on the Zuiderdam in cabin 5092 which we found to be a very good choice for us:). A lifeboat was directly below us but it did not hinder our view of the ocean at all. We also liked the fact that we were very close to the elevators and the stairs, being mid-ship.
