on our recent cruise on Solstice we were allocated table 311 at 8:30pm and we loved it - we were able to have a drink at one of the bars at 6pm, see the show at 7pm have another drink at the bar then head to dinner at 8:30pm

our table could seat 8-10 but there was only ever us and another couple at the table

When you do Anytime Dining in the MDR, do you prefer a private table or a table to share with different guests each night?

A big advantage of Select dining is that you are not limited to having dinner at the same time or table or with the same people for the entire cruise.

So there is no need to decide in advance.

Some nights we feel more sociable and prefer a larger table, while other nights we just want a table for two.

Some nights we get hungry earlier, and other nights we want dinner later.

With Select dining, you are free to dine with different people on different nights, or not, as you wish.

Usually, the larger the table, the slower the service.

So on nights when we don't want a long, drawn out dinner, we request a two-top in the dining room,

or we go to the buffet,

or order room service.

If you were assigned that time and table you were in Traditional, not Anytime dining .

We love to share a table and we've had some memorable dining companions. Our personal favourite was one night on the Eclipse when we shared a table with people from Texas who bred bulls. The conversation was very interesting that night. You never know what you might learn. :D:D:D

Do they take reservations for a table for two in anytime dining?

We usually book Aqua class but didn't for a nine nighter on the Silhouette next March.

We plan to do specialties on 4 or 5 nights.

We always have reservations for Select Dining. I make the reservations in my cruise planner before the cruise.

We have chosen Traditional Dining with the 8:30 p.m. seating. Is there a time that we can request Table for 2? There does not seem to be an option to do this through the Celebrity web site.

Table for two. We don't cruise to make new friends or engage in small talk.:)

You took the words right out of my mouth. It is so stressful to feel compelled to make chitchat while dining with folks that you have just met and may never see again.
