We are staying in NY after the cruise and need to know the best way to get from NYC hotel to JFK for a 6:30 p.m. flight?

Any ideas? Thank you.

Exact date? Which hotel? Domestic flight?

Thank you. Can't do train due to children including baby. Leaving Monday from hotel near Penn Station. Have 7 ppl all together.

Look at booking 1 or 2 cars with Dial7 or Carmellimo.

New Yorkers will post time to leave. I'm thinking about 3 pm to allow for any traffic issues.

Ok, now that we know you have a large group and have already ruled out taking the train, the best answer is a car service like Dial 7 or Carmel. You can book in advance and be assured of booking 1 vehicle that will fit all of you and your luggage, rather than needing 2 cabs. (Even with Uber XL, you could get an SUV that might fit all of you but luggage could be a challenge.)

Keep in mind that if this will be on a weekday, you will likely hit afternoon rush hour traffic, so allow more extra time than normal when scheduling the arrival of your car service to your hotel, to ensure you still get to the airport in time. If you tell the car service what time you want to be at the airport, they can help advise you of what time you should get picked up.

I agree no later than 3:00. JFK is very crowded. The flights to Europe start around 4:00 pm. If you have your boarding passes in hand, that’s a start, but if you have checked baggage there’s another long line. With the baby they MIGHT allow you on the priority line to go through security but that’s random. Expect a very long security line also. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Price out 1 or 2 vehicles, we are a family of 7 and 2 is usually cheaper than 1.
