New to Princess and I would like to ask what dining options are available when you embark onto the ship? I will be on the Crown Princess. Does the ship have an Italian Restaurant that is open for free? Thanks for the feedback.

Embarkation day lunch is available at the buffet, the International Cafe (salads and sandwiches), and one of the main dining rooms. But lunch in the main dining room is strictly for those arriving before 1:30 and as a first-timer without priority boarding you may not be on board in time to get there by then. The outdoor grill and pizza place may also be open, dunno. The Italian restaurant, Sabatini's, will not be open then and in any case is not fee-free.

Only Royal, Regal, Majestic, Grand, and Sapphire Princess have Alfredo's Pizzeria. Crown Princess has the newly updated Slice Pizza stand outdoors on the Lido deck.

Apart from the buffet and pool deck options, lunch is served in the Deck 6 Midship dining room from 12 Noon until 1:30. Just go straight there if you are onboard, ignore any crew member who may try to direct you elsewhere.
