Rhapsody of the Seas

Recommended Posts

I am on the ship now. I was concerned because I saw so little info. Now I know why. NOTHING to do on here. This is a spring break time. Last night in the theater...Ballroom Dancing show...ugh. They do not have satellite tv so on big screen & in rooms it is a constant loop. So many, many things I do not like about this ship. Look for another option!

How was Costa Maya? How about Key West? Wasn't this "all about the ports" for you?

We are on rhapsody in June and looking forward to it.

If we have decent food and drink available , a friendly , competent crew and some good music at night we will have a great cruise. I have never been on a cruise ship where there is nothing to do.

Oh wow. I could have sworn the Rhapsody had a casino, nightclub, multiple bars, shows, live music, specialty restaurants, outdoor pool, indoor adult pool, hot tubs, gym, spa, trivia, games, shops and a rock climbing wall.

Nope, they got rid of all that 2 weeks ago and replaced with additional art auction spaces.

Great - we'll be on the Rhapsody next week and will pick up some new art and have some free champagne!

Not too concerned. Has to have more life than the Rotterdam out of Tampa that I cancelled and booked Rhapsody in it's place. HAL got rid of BB King's jazz club on Rotterdam. The best thing about HAL's entertainment. Reports also say most of Rotterdam's entertainment is geared for those 70 and over now.

Live music Jan 2018! And schooner has one of the best in the business right now at the piano!

Happy to hear nothing's changed then. 22+ years ago me and my wife would go to Schooner Bar and enjoy Live Music and a drink around 8pm before late dinner... Love these "Smaller ships" though I remember when they first sailed they were call "Mega ships"

On Rhapsody in just over four weeks. It might be a bit small, but I still can't wait.

If nothing else, I will go float in the pool in the evenings.

When she started in 1997 she was the biggest cruise ship in the world and she still is much bigger than the average. How can people call her small?

And are all ships without flowriders, waterslides, bumper cars and laser tag now boring?

That would be Kelly Goodrich and he is on until she reaches Barcelona on May 20th. He does a fantastic show 6 nights a week!!!

We will be on her again out of Venice in the summer for the last time.

Apparently she has been sold and will be leaving the fleet at the end of the summer season this year.

Apparently she has not been sold and will for sure not leave the fleet in 2018!

I think there is a place for the smaller ships in the fleet.

We were on one of Splendours last sailings out of Dubai before being sold and loved the ship.

Its a different experience for sure compared to Oasis, but we really enjoyed it and were certainly never bored or looking for something to do on her.

Apparently we are booked for 5 weeks in Nov/Dec 2018 and she is well alive and waiting for us flying the RCI flag.

I haven't been on a ship yet that has water slides, bumper cars, or laser tag (flowriders are fun).

While each ship is special in its own way, we just like the ships that are a bit bigger. And it's not like I haven't compared the different classes - I started my cruise adventures on Monarch and worked my way up (and it just so happens, back down the sizes right now). Allure was great for a Transatlantic but I don't think I would want to be on an Oasis class for a port intensive Caribbean cruise. But the opposite is true - I don't think I would enjoy an ocean crossing on a ship smaller than a Voyager class as I think I would get bored (Radiance might be ok, I like the outdoor seating in Windjammer).

It's all personal preference but we just like the ships with a promenade and a walking track that goes all the way around.

But that is not to say I can't wait to get on Rhapsody. 7 night cruise with 4 port stops is perfect and I am looking forward to see the differences between her and her bigger sister Enchantment (see if I can tell where they would have cut the ship in half).

We're also that way about the bigger ships. They are also newer which is nice. But, like you, we will be very happy to board the Rhapsody on Sunday and when we were on the Enchantment after the "split" you would never know it took place if you weren't already aware of it. It's amazing that they were able to do that and the extra deck space by the pool is very nice.

apparently we are booked on Rhapsody sailing out of Venice the fall of 2019 ... I hope that's what I booked with RCI, but hey with how their website is doing right now, maybe it wasn't meant to be Rhapsody, right?

We were on the Anthem last week & was looking at booking the Rhapsody for a 7 night trip out of Florida Feb. 2019.

Was looking for more info on ship like last upgrade & number of people it takes.

Anthem was big compared to the Freedom in 2017 (our first cruise) but lots of things would NOT use.

Miss the BIG MDR like the Freedom had, but our daughter had bought us dinner at Chops of one night & the steak was great.
