Flood warning for Mendenhall Lake...

Well, the sandbar isn't much above the usual water level, so if the lake rises 12 feet, it would be flooded. Much of the trail out to it would be covered too.

 

I'm not sure how high the parking lot is.

 

The Visitor Center is elevated - you have to go up a flight of stairs from the parking lot. The Trail of Time starts from it and goes up a bit. That has good views of the glacier & is a very pleasant trail.

The flood warning is for the river, not the lake. Lake levels may be somewhat impacted but most of the extra water goes into the river. The area around Skater’s Cabin and the West Glacier trail may be affected...
