Resort day passes?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone experience of booking day passes at resorts in the Caribbean? On the Celebration 7th Dec arrives Antigua 16th Dec and looking at the port calendar 2 other ships (one huge) are there at the same time (thanks to CC for this resource link!) Having been to Antigua twice on normal vacations have done the sights so seeking some beach R&R but maybe avoiding Dickenson Bay. As my favourite beach has lost its hotel and with it facilities just checking alternatives.

Also as the cruise finishes in Barbados and flight doesnt got until 4 pm is there anything close to kill time? can probably stay on ship but after a transatlantic a bit of terra firma ought to be maximised.

When we departed Barbados we left the ship early and walked into the town. There were lots of markets and we stopped for a drink. It's about 20 mins walk or there are taxis at the port. Unfortunately if it's Sunday nothing much is open but you would have time to go to the beach for a couple if hours

We went on the ships organised trip 'farewell Barbados'. It took you to some lovely sights, lunch at one of the plantation houses and then directly to the airport so we weren't hanging around the ship just waiting. it was a lovely end to our trip.

This year our flight doesn't leave until 6.45 pm I think so lots of hanging around. Hoping to get a late check out cabin but not sure how much/how late these are!

Had a great time at the Boatyard in Barbados. Lovely beach, snorkelling with Turtles. Just pick up a taxi at the port, its a short $5  ride & the Boatyard gets you a taxi back to the ship. We spent Christmas day there & then went back on New Years day before flying back to the UK. It was ideal.

Should also be loads of info on nearby beaches with chair hire, food, drinks etc available where actual resort passes are not needed on the Caribbean Boards Ports of Call section.

After a period of poor email communication we finally got day pass details from the Hawksbill Resort Antigua. For the benefit of others they are now charging US$40 per head for 12 noon til 4 pm then you need to arrange your own taxi transfers.  For 2 that gets a bit expensive for the extra bonus of using their pool and loo as on AI can eat and drink ourselves silly onboard.  Seems they haven't increased prices but are reducing hours...

Decided to do a ships excursion which at least can be varied with the weather...
