Never stayed in a cove balcony thinking of upgrading, just for the fact of the balcony, does balcony get wet being closer to the water if so how much? Noise factors from pipes from this room 2409. Thank You janet

We had Cabin 2293 on the Vista for her inaugural run. We were much closer to the bow and sometimes got some spray when the captain had the pedal to the medal (which he did a couple times because we left port late). Other than that, no we never got any water spray from waves. Since you'll be much further back, you wouldn't even get any of the spray that we got when the ship was going excessively fast. We loved our cove balcony! It was the first time that we had it and will definitely look to book one again.

We stayed in 2308 on the Vista, (one of the six cabins on each side without lifeboats above them...). I'd characterize the balcony area as having a constant, light, salty mist with occasional heavier spray. We would wipe down the railing occasionally only for it to transform back to it's salty self in minutes. Occasionally we would get water dripping from above, but that was about it.

The views are spectacular in my opinion; nothing like a 100,000 ton ship plowing through 15' waves at 20 knots. Often felt like the immensity of the ship just "swatted" the water out of the way. Spotted flying fish almost every day and porpoises occasionally, and it was always was great fun to lean over the rail and feel the full force of the wind on you.

AFA noise, can't help you, our cabin was under the Excursions desk and never heard a thing.

Cove balconies are a very unique experience and are so much different than a normal balcony. Our October cruise on the Horizon will be a 8 day Southern in a cove, we like them that much, I think you will too.

We did a Cove on the Magic and while we loved being close to the water and the privacy, we did not like the constant mist on the chairs, the blocked view of the night sky from lifeboats, and the wave noise that reverberated through the hull. We would not chose a Cove again for these reasons.
