Thinking about sailing out of Baltimore on the Pride. Has anyone sailed on her lately or at all? What are the pros and cons of her? How is the Port of Baltimore? Are there any cabins better then the other? My son is 19 years old and I am trying to convince my husband that it is time for a vacation with just us!!! Lol Looking to maybe do around the month of September. Thanks everyone

We were on the Pride about 2 years ago, and will be going again in Aug! We had a great time, and we are looking forward to going again.

Unless you are looking for the bells and whistles the newer ships offer, Pride is a great choice. The ship is not over crowded, and there is plenty to do. Also, great layout to navigate it. Very nice Serenity area for adults only. Excellent main theater and comedy club venues.

Baltimore port is very easy. The terminal isn't much to look at, but they get you through it efficiently. Parking is right next to the terminal, and very easy. It's right off I-95, so very easy to get to.

Pride has a very high percentage of balcony cabins, so the price difference between balconies and ocenview or interior is much less than some other ships.

We had an extended balcony on deck 5 forward. Great location for getting to the MDR, main theater, and comedy club, without needing an elevator. And, amazing view as your balcony hangs right over the ocean, without anything under it (all the other extended balconies are over the life boats).

If you don't want to spring for the extended balcony, I would go with deck 8 forward balconies. It's under the spa, so noise wouldn't be an issue, and easy walk to the pools/buffet on Lido without an elevator.

Stay away from the aft rooms. For some reason, aft rooms sometimes (not always) get vibrations from the engines, especially the lower decks. You'll sometimes feel it in the MDR. I think it's a resonant frequency issue (my own personal theory with nothing to back it up). You'll NEVER feel it forward at all.

We will be on the Pride out of Baltimore in November for 14 days.

It will be our 2nd time on the Pride. I also have been on the Legend 3 times. She is sister to the Pride.

All of our Pride/Legend cruises have been in Aft cabins. I have never had an issue with the vibrations that people talk about. We have been on Decks 4,6 and 7 without any problems.

we are going on the Pride in July for the 6th time. she is one of our favorite ships and Baltimore is extremely easy ort to go out of. we usually get a balcony and have never had a bad one. this time will be our 2nd time without one. in a window room this time and was in an interior once. agree that this ship never seems to be crowded, and has an easy layout because of only one dining room at the rear.

we have done each of the cruises they do out of Baltimore and wish it would do some 9 or 10 day cruises with different destinations.

I haven't been on the Legend, but from what I've read, the vibration issue seems to be specific to the Pride, not the other Spirit class ships.

I would never avoid sailing Pride because of it, it really is minor, but I could see people have trouble sleeping in aft cabins if it were to happen at night.

On our 7 day cruise, we felt it 2-3 times while in the MDR. We had all dinners, breakfast/brunch, and sea day tea time all in the MDR. So, the percentage is like 10%. We felt it once up on Lido deck in rough weather. Like I said, sometimes it happens, other times not. No one seems to know why.

Thank you for all your post. We are not the type of people that need all the bells and whistles lol. I wanna be able to sit back and relax on this cruise. I wanna go to shows and maybe grab a lounge chair on the pool deck and read my book.

The Carnival Pride for me, sits as overall reigning champion as my best cruise ever. However, since it is also the cruise I got married on, it has been removed for future comparisons because I will never be able to repeat that experience. (No, i'm not getting married again).

Nonetheless, the Pride is a great ship. Its not too big, its not too small. Its got many of the new innovations like Guy's Burger, Bonsai and the Green Thunder. Baltimore, in my opinion, is the best embarkation port around. My record from front door to ship, is 13 minutes, though that was Royal Caribbean's ship though.

My ONLY complaint about the Pride is their limited itinerary. They usually only do 2. Port Canaveral, Bahamas run, or the Grand Turks Bahamas run. However, recently, I also see they're starting to add a Bermuda run, so that's something.

Then you'll love the Pride!

While the bigger ships have the bells and whistles, they have more competition for those lounge chairs by the pool. On our last cruise, I never had a problem finding chairs.

I was just on the Pride...2/4 and I'm going back 3/4....Got a casino offer I couldn't resist.

It is now my #1 Carnival favorite. Love the size and it never felt crowded, even on sea days. Baltimore was a breeze to get in and out.

Itinerary doesn't matter much to me anymore since I enjoy staying on in port so I don't care where it goes.

Hopefully, I'll get to explore the ship a bit more this time. I was on a Premier cruise in February and was always in the casino...LOL

We took the Pride about 18 months ago to the Bahamas and Grand Turk. (Unfortunately we missed our day at Half Moon Cay). This is a pretty good itinerary if you are looking for a beach vacation. I was pleasantly surprised by the ship—a nice size with nice amenities. (Your son will love Guy’s Burgers and Blue Iguana Cantina.) Baltimore is super easy to get in and out of when driving.

We are doing the run to Bermuda in September and are really looking forward to being on the Pride again. I think this cruise would good choice for someone who wants to relax and read—a lot of sea days.

Just remember that September is PRIME hurricane season and just 4 hours south on the outer banks/tidewater VA, we can easily be effected. The season is always unpredictable and be prepared that your Bahamas get away could turn into Bermuda, or even a New England cruise to avoid bad weather. Many a person has showed up at the port with tank tops and shorts only to find they needed jeans and a hoodie - and then come on here and post how angry they are.

We have been on the Pride 8 times our 9th will be this October. We just sail on her a few weeks ago. We love the Spirit class ships and the Pride! The ship has an easy layout and you are able to get to all points fast by walking. If you don't need the rope course etc you will love the Pride. My wife and I started our Pride run when our kids went to college. Our vacations on the Pride are very restful and we are able to recharge until our next cruise. We usually get an obstructed view balcony but we have stayed in regular and extended balcony staterooms. If we stay in an obstructed view cabin I select a cabin after the first three lifeboats (they are larger) and between the lifeboats. Since we always use the steps, we like staying on deck 5 or 6 so we are halfway to go up or down. I must say the staff on the Pride do an outstanding job making you feel like home! We have interacted with some of the same staff on multiple cruises.

Baltimore is very easy, parking is secure, on site and only $105 for the week.

If you have any questions just ask.

We were in cabin 6196 and the vibration was constant. So much so we couldn’t keep anything on our counter tops that we didn’t want to fall off in the middle of the night. The vibration was also horrible in the dining room. We would never sail the Pride again unless we hear that they’ve addressed and fixed the issue. It’s definitely a deal breaker.

We were on the Pride last October in a 4th deck Vista suite. Awesome cabin, but.......BRUTAL vibrations, especially at night when the ship is at high speed. We likened the shaking to being in Linda Blair's bed from the Exorcist. We also had to remove the glassware from the shelves from the constant irritating rattling at night. I'd definately will sail the Pride again (been on it 3x) but will stay more midship and higher.

We just cruised without the kids on the Pride February 14 for the first time and we loved it so much we came home and booked a Christmas cruise with them for this year. We usually go on Fantasy class ships so we don't need ropes courses etc. This cruise was so unusual to us. Nobody hardly hung out at the pools, pool bars, Atrium bars, the shows etc. they were all in the Casino the whole time. It was so different from our usual cruise experiences. I don't know if it's usually like that or just the winter cruises. But no waits at Guy's, Blue Iguana. Awesome room 6221 & room steward. Great waiters and bartenders all over the ship. The pizza place actually makes the type of pizza you want to order. It was just fabulous from start to finish! Can't wait for December!! Just wish they went better places than the Bahamas.

We were on the Pride in December. It is a good itinerary, especially if you like sea days. We were towards the aft and did not feel vibration in the cabin. There was one night where felt it in the MDR. Entertainment was good and the staff worked hard. This was our 4th cruise out of Baltimore - it is very easy to get in/out. Boat was in good shape and the food was fine.

All the Carnival ships I have been on, the Pride is still my favorite. The Spirit class is the pinnacle of cruise ship design in my opinion. Baltimore is a great port for embarkation. The only downside to Baltimore is the first and last day when cruising in cooler weather.

The vibration starts with the extended balc in the aft section of the ship. I think your cabin was by the mid ship elevators, which is why you may not have experienced this issue. (Lucky you) We now book mid ship or forward to avoid this situation. Happy Cruising
