We got to dinner early again tonight so we would be able to make it to the 6:45 comedy show. We requested and got the same area because we really like the guys that have been waiting on us. I will post the menu below. We ordered (appetizers) alligator fritters, tomato/green bean salad and Michigan pasty. I have enjoyed everything I’ve had in the main dining room except this Michigan pasty. It was just really just very bland. Our entrées: Flat iron steak and the beef Wellington. My husband‘s flat iron steak was the best one he’s ever had on a Carnival ship. Sometimes it’s a thin steak and overcooked. This one was 2 inches thick and perfectly medium rare. Our desserts were the chocolate melting cake and the banana split. The banana split is on the kids menu. Of course they don’t give us the kids menu but I know it’s on there. You can order it no problem and I often do, if I don’t like the regular dessert menu. Our waiter said that it was a good thing I was ordering it tonight - that would probably be the last night you could get it because they would not have any fresh bananas after that.

We made it to the 6:45 comedy show a few minutes late but there were several seats available. We saw John Johahn. He was pretty good too. We had some time to kill before the 9:30 Love and marriage show. We decided to go check out the Havana area. After 7 PM all of Vista’s guests can visit but before that it’s only open to people that are staying in Havana cabins. First we stopped at the Havana bar and my son got a piña colada.IMG_0551.thumb.JPG.e9a293502fb934b6021732a2a2669f8b.JPG

Got it! I’m not sure if you’ve gotten the vineyards package with Carnival before. They used to have three packages: value, deluxe and premium. They’ve gotten rid of the deluxe so there really is not much of an option anymore. At first I paid for the value but then when I looked closely at the wine list I was not happy with that so we upgraded to the premium. Hate that they got rid of the middle of the road package.

I’m sorry you might have to look at it sideways that’s the only way it would let me load.

The Havana area is absolutely gorgeous and I’m sure it feels very private to have the pool and two large hot tubs available for just people staying in that area. After you pass the bar there is a cool lounge area and a band that plays just for that area. IMG_0555.thumb.JPG.d2bb53e31e6980beea8c2832df2f9697.JPG

I’m thinking if we ever stayed in Havana area I would definitely just go with an interior cabin. We walked around and saw the balcony areas and although the balcony area is large you really don’t get to see open water at all.

We still had time so we went up to play miniature golf. My son is a good golfer and he does well at the mini form too...as does his dad....his mom?...now that’s another story. e759d41d8cc0b8289ea4f7efa896ef02.jpg

They also have pool and ping pong tables up here and in the area that’s enclosed the have a large pool table. I’m not sure how you play this...kicking the balls in???? Of course, there is a basketball court and this doubles as a soccer court. One of our waiters told us that earlier today he and other crew members played soccer up here on their time off.

Also an outdoor workout area with some pretty cool machines if you are so inclined. I’m not but props to you if you are.

Finally, it was time for the Love and marriage show. We always go to these. If you’ve been on a Carnival cruise more than a couple of times you know the questions/format is always the same. You also know that it doesn’t matter because it’s the participant responses that make it different...and funny every time. Tonight was no exception. Adam (cruise director) has been very visible but tonight was the first time we really got to see him as we haven’t gone to any of the cruise director talks or parties. We LOVE him. He is charming and funny too! I don’t know how I haven’t heard of him before. Really great and said he’s been with Carnival for 11 years. We didn’t get a drink in the liquid lounge but here is the drink menu. IMG_0588.thumb.JPG.e941958f1f6c145ee24fe4cc7a09903a.JPG

Hi Carol, Thanks for your review and I’m so glad that you are enjoying your trip. Where do you recommend sitting in the Liquid Lounge for the best view? TIA

The Liquid Lounge.... as I’m sure you’ve read on other posts is a bit different than this area on other Carnival ships. Definitely not my favorite. Directly in front of the stage there are about 15 rows of about 30-35 chairs that are not attached to the floor(and no tables in front of them) directly to the left, right and back of these rows there are 12 (4 on each side) booths with semi-circle bench seats with a round table in front of them. I’d say the best place to sit, but I’m sure these spots go fast.

Your review and the great close up pics of the menus and Fun Times are great! We're cruising on the Vista Aug 18th. These make it easy to plan! Looking forward to more! Enjoy!

Thank you! I’m hopping the pics...and review... are okay. I’m doing it with my iPhone. My fingers are getting a workout with this small screen.

Wednesday - Curacao

So since we don’t Port until 1:30 seems that the morning and afternoon are treated like a regular sea day, as far as restaurants go anyway. That’s a pleasant surprise! It was nice to enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the main dining room. Not that I don’t like the Lido breakfast food. It’s great and you certainly everyone can find something they like. It’s just nice to be able to relax, sit down and not fight the masses.

Here is the main dining room breakfast menu. We got the express breakfast and salmon.

My son was being lazy about getting up this a.m. He stayed up late last night. Turns out he went to the Seafood Shack (10 aft) for a late evening snack. Wasn’t there to get a photo. He got the buffalo shrimp and said it was a very big portion for $6. Says it was spicy but he likes a lot of heat so he got extra hot sauce. Here is their menu. They had bingo going today. We normally enjoy playing bingo but didn’t feel like it today. I went to the fun shop sale and bought a cute $10 top. Next, we had lunch at the pasta bar. This is in the same location as Cucina del Capitano but that’s what it’s called in the evening and then there’s a $15 charge. This is similar to the way they do the Mongolian wox/ Ji Ji Asian which is also a cost for evening dinner. Both places are only open on sea days and this late afternoon port day . I’ve included the sheet that you use to check off what you want and pictures of our meal. We had a Caesar salad, Lasagna and fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. Everything was very good and I highly recommend it.

Thank you! I was hoping to hear about Adam. He will be CD on our upcoming Valor cruise (out of Galveston in November). I had not been able to find anything about him on CC. Your review is also super helpful since we hope to sail on Vista once it moves to Galveston. Keep your fun spirit!

Loved the seafood shack got the peel and eat shrimp really good after I won in the casino last year

Looks like good food at decent price, But it doesn’t seem that they get much business. IDK maybe it’s the location.???
