how does the onboard credit work on Celebrity if you have not used it all by end of the cruise. I've not had this happen yet but the possibility is there for our upcoming cruise. On Princess there is nonrefundable and refundable and if anything is left of refundable, they mail you a check.

Celebrity has a similar policy. Non refundable is used first then they go to the refundable. If anything is left from refundable they issue a credit to the credit card you registered with them. Any left non refundable is lost. You can use the OBC for additional gratuities for certain staff members.

If you wish to get the unused OBC-R back in cash you can do so on the last night of the cruise or, as stated, they'll refund the unused portion to you credit card on file. Any OBC issued by X can be used for pre-cruise purchases of dining, beverage packages, shore excursions etc. If you cancel any of those purchases it will be credited back to your account.
