Wow, once again, thanks for the fantastic photos, I have a feeling we're going to have to take a land based trip there sometime in the future & spend a couple of weeks driving. :)

Amazing what a difference a few months makes. In May, those Akureyri mountains were mostly snow capped. :cool:

At Godafoss, there were still some icy areas along the edges of the falls. People were even trying to cross at the narrow sections. :eek:

In contrast, I understand that in mid to late June, the brown lava rock that we saw in Reykajvik turns green with moss. :)

When we were at Godafoss this past June 2nd we saw the most beautiful rainbow arching across the falls that we have ever seen before....I wish I knew how to post our pictures.

We found the entrance to Akureyri pretty interesting...

Also the places to be (easily) reached from there were spectacular...
