What makes you keep cruising Carnival?

Recommended Posts

I would like to know why you all like cruising Carnival? What makes it special to you? I am looking at booking an Alaska Cruise for our 5 year anniv. and Carnival has the best price. It will be Dh, me and our DD (who will be 2 1/2 at sailing in 2010). We've been to Alaska, so we know what to expect. Never cruised Carnival (only Princess) with RCI coming in Dec for a group cruise for my cousins wedding. My Aunt who loves Carnival says we can't go wrong. I like to research and just want to know why you guys like Carnival. Once Princess release their Alaska dates, we'll make our final decision. But Carnival Spirit is winning because of PRICE! We would book a balcony. So any thoughts on the ship will help as well.

First, the Spirit is my favorite ship. I've been on her twice and have another cruise booked on her. I have been on 6 of the Carnival ships and loved them all.

I love the soft serve ice cream, warm chocolate melting cake, all the food in general and the attitude of Carnival overall.

I agree, in my opinion you can't go wrong.

Hope you decide to try Carnival, and you have a great time!

I honestly would never consider going to another cruise line. I like the way they treat us. We have always had wonderful customer service. We have only been on four cruises and for one small "incident" on our cruise to Hawaii we have never had a bad cruise. Why would I change and go to a different cruise line when I am so happy with the one I have used? Carnival honestly has treated us very well and because they have, I will continue to sail with them.

I have no reason to try another cruise line. The value is exceptional. The crowds are a tad 'younger', the deck activities are OK....

The food is great. I talk to many people who cruise different cruise lines and the general consensus is that the food is just as good if not better than any other cruise line.

The service is excellent.

The Spirit class is our favorite. It is narrower, fewer passengers, few line ups. You will love this ship.

The Supper Club is definitely worth at lease one trip.

You won't be disappointed.

Cheers!

1. They're the only line going out of Galveston right now.

2. When they aren't the only line, they had the best pricing.

3. Once I became Platinum, well I justlove the perks! Everytime I think about going RCL, I'm like... "but there's no VIP check-in, or free laundry service, etc. etc." lol.

Honestly... it's similar to going to McDonalds anywhere in the world... you know exactly what you're going to get and at a fair price. I'm in no way equating Carnival's level of quality with Macca's. But it's comforting to know exactly what I'm going to get week in and week out. The food is great, the ships are clean and the crew 99.9% of them are wonderful.

The only reason I'd cruise on another line is if Carnival didn't offer the cruise.

We think for the buck you spend you get a great vacation. We are not

big fans of the foo foo drinks and dressed up balls, etc. So Carnival is right

down our alley.

We have had great customer service when we have any issues. We always

have enjoyed the food in the dinning and lido decks.

Most of it "relaxing" where I can leave work at shore when the boat

sails away.

I had a Big Mac in Hong Kong and also in Hawaii, its not cheap out there :D

I think in Hawaii they charged me 5.00 for a BigMac, and that was back in the early 80's

The latest "Big Mac Index," also from the Economist, shows Switzerland at the top, with a Big Mac price of $4.93, compared with $3.15 in the United States. Other high-cost countries are Denmark and Sweden -- findings roughly comparable to the city rankings.

Have been on over 35 cruises, with many different cruise lines and Carnival gives you alot for your money. There food is great and the specialty restaurant is the best! The fun factor really exists. I have been on Miracle and Pride and for some reason this class of ships seem a little classier than their other ships, to me, I really can't explain why. My husband and I are in our 50-60's and we love Carnival. If the price is less on a Carnival ship compared to other cruise lines, we book Carnival and take the money we save and eat dinner 3 or 4 nights in the specialty restaurant and lose the rest in the casino. If it came down to getting a balcony or choosing another line and not getting one, I would never even consider Princess. Please don't believe all the things you here about Carnival it is a great cruise line with great food, great entertainment, excellent service, big cabins and just a great atmosphere. I also think your 2 yr. old can go to Camp Carnival, which would give you and your husband a break. My grandkids love the kids club on Carnival, I would say only Disney could beat their kids program. Have a great time!

Price is my #1 consideration.

I've cruised on Carnival and Royal Caribbean, and they are so similar, that I couldn't tell the difference.

My husband could since he could not get the soft self-serve ice cream whenever he wanted on Royal Caribbean. :D

It really is the FUNNEL!

For some reason if I'm on Lido and I don't see the kickin' red/white/blue T shooting into the sky, I wouldn't feel right. :D

Hey Jason, did you sail on the Splendor with us?

Diversity & Inclusion – it always makes for a great party! And that’s coming from a Human Resources Manager supporting thousands of employees for a major retailer and you would think that being around a lot of people on my vacation would be the last thing I would want…not so. The ‘Fun Ship’ environment is what ‘you’ make it and it is there to be had by all. Hope you decide to sail with Carnival.

The price is a biggie...

AFter that, I'd have to say that it is the fear of other cruiselines instilled in me by a friend.

She told me that some European line she cruised on was overrun by walkers and oxygen tanks...

I like the demographic of the Carnival ships--a little bit of everyone from all ages and walks of life.

Thank you all for your replies. I just called Carnival and got some more information regarding the early saver price. Once I confirm if my parents will join us (if they won't - they will stay with DD) I will 99.9% be booking our Alaska 2010 with Carnival. The price can't be beat right now!

...my wife and I just love this cruise line! Everytime we go we have sooo much fun. It truly is the "Fun Ship." In addition to that, the food is really good and the beds are great. Our next cruise is in December and December cannot come fast enough!!!

Carnival has very good food. Carnival's service is pretty good too. I have a good time on Carnival. Can't say that about every cruise line. You will find that you will have a good time on Carnival too. Carnival has the largest staterooms for each category and the new bedding is really good. If price was the only factor then NCL would get my business, however, they don't have good food or good service. And I didn't have a good time on NCL.

I'm a little different from the others here. I'd be perfectly willing to try ANY major cruise line and I would actually give a slight edge to another line for the sake of variety. However, when it comes time to research a trip, Carnival usually wins out on price and itinerary for where I've been trying to go.

I have only tried 2 other lines (RCCL and NCL) and both times I was dissappointed.

Besides all that was mentioned by everyone else, which I agree with - CCL is just "down right" FUN! I am Platinum with CCL and it's hard to give up those perks - but on the other lines it seems that they "pull the sidewalks in at 5:00" - how's that for a little Southern vernacular? LOL! Good Luck. Chick.
