Looking for the names of some of the officers/department heads on the Jewel - especially the Captain, HD, Cruise Director, Food & Beverage, etc. We will be boarding on 10/3.

I leave this Saturday on The Jewel. However I know the following officers:

Captain: Kenneth Harstorm

Hotel Director: Steven Jacobsen

Food and Beverage Director: Mohammad Hasan

Restaurant Manager: Noel Chaves

I hope this helps. Have no idea about the Cruise Director.

Captain Pelle is currently on vacation. Captain Lars Bengtsson is currently on board. Not sure how much longer he will be on board.

We're sailing out of Sydney on the Jewel on 5th January - can't wait!!!

My husband and I and 2 friends just returned on Friday from a 5 day cruise to Tasmania.

I was not impressed with the staff AT ALL

Didn't see the usual smiling faces that you see on other cruise ships.

The service in the main dining room was really bad, plates were not served they were dropped,

as we all know you don't sit in the same place, so it wasn't just once. One lady served my meal from the other side of the table and nearly knocked a glass of wine from my husbands hand.

Maybe it was because we were on a short cruise.

I didn't :loudcry:think the food was as good as other cruise lines either.

The crew must have changed 100% from the 29 days we were on from Honolulu to Sydney, we enjoyed every minute with a really friendly crew with great service in the MDR where we ate almost every night and also for breakfast and lunch.
