Getting to Fremantle Cruise Port from Perth on Embarkation Day

Thanks for the responses. We are a bit worried about the luggage. A 16 day cruise followed by 5 days in Sydney.

 

I cant see how such a short trip would require anything beyond a small suitcase each. I have done 6 weeks trips to Antarctica & Sth America several times with a small suitcase of 18 kilos.

 

Easiest and cheapest is the train - the line is right outside opposite the ship.

Convenient - would be taxi or uber. Taxi is around $65 to $75.

Pricier and more relaxed is the harbour cruise into Barrack St jetty then taxi to hotel.

 

PS - nothing is called "downtown" in Aus. You are probably referring to the CBD - depending on where your hotel actually is.

If you can handle your luggage easily, I'd get the ferry. The wharf is only a short walk from the cruise ship terminal and the cruise up the Swan River is narrated which gives you an ideal introduction to the city of Perth. Better than any ship's debark tour.
