Customs on eastbound transatlantic

We did an east-bound TA several years ago. We had stops in Portugal, Spain and France before disembarking in Southampton. The port stops were just the same as any other cruise we were on, no special procedures. Going into England was different. Immigration officers came on board on the sea day prior to disembarkation and processed all passengers before we landed in Southampton.

That was a mess - hour+ lines snaking around Guest Relations of people waiting to see an agent. The payoff came in Southampton when we just walked off the ship and claimed our luggage.
