Taomina from Messina

I have done a bunch of research about tour companies that will take you from Messina to Taormina, but the avg time in Taormina is about 2 hours. I was hoping to stay longer. Are there any taxis or private tour companies at the port that take passengers there?

We are thinking of DIY - taxi there and taxi back. We would like to visit Castelmola as well, that would require another taxi down to Taormina.

Did you book with them? When is your trip? I'm curious if it was good.

We have a very short time in port here (8am - 2pm), so I may just book ship excursion as I'm nervous about the short time in port.
