imo the production team was better than the brought on board entertainers. This was the best group I have ever seen on an Oceania cruise. I was not the only Oceania repeater echoing that sentiment. All their voices blended together and they did a great job on their solos as well. They worked as a team and it showed. They were also out and about socializing with the passengers even when they were not on duty.:):):)

We have been consistently in the minority on these boards over the years stating that we enjoy and attend the shows. Granted, some ensembles have been better than others and none of them were Broadway/West End caliber but that doesn’t mean they cannot be good.

We also enjoy their interaction with the passengers and have gotten to know some of them over the years.

When they are out mingling they ARE on duty

It is part of their job

We had one young lady on a cruise who was out chatting to people on the pool deck you could tell by her questions she would rather be elsewhere

Another time we had one of the dancers have tea with us several times she was quite delightful

The shows/performers are hit or miss

+1 to Paulchili’s comments. We typically always enjoy the O entertainment group and believe the naysayers are off base. Always just believed the naysayers were using it as an excuse to justify going to bed by 9:00!

We were just on the Nautica for 32 days visiting the Baltic, Iceland, Greenland and Ireland and the shows for the most part were very enjoyable and the theater was packed every night. The production singers and dancers had great shows and the guest entertainers were also very enjoyable. But, the CD, John, on the second leg of our GV really made the entire cruise, especially on sea days, a wonderful experience!

Him and Carson are our 2 favorite O cruise directors. Always something fun going on when they're on the ship. :p

Don't overlook the string quartets which play several times a day and provide some of the best entertainment you can get on any ship.
