Bliss - Live 4/21

Doug you obviously have the "I'll sleep when I'm dead" mentality. Do you take a nap in the afternoon or do you just naturally have the energy of a 19 year old?

I would still be sleeping if Sue’s greatest pleasure wasn’t punishing me.

Well then... we got that right with our cabin, mid ship, deck 11. Good to know and thanks Doug.
Our cabin is 12180 on 3/2/19. First time with an extended balcony. We're right off the forward elevators and only a few floors below the OL. Only thing is, we spend much of our time in Spice which is the opposite end of the ship. Oh well, walking never killed anyone.

Thank you for the live review. It's making the wait just a little more bearable. Any plans on trying Los Lobos? We have the 3 night UDP and we're trying to decide between the Q or Los Lobos

Spice has shrunk considerably on the Bliss. It almost feels forgotten or incomplete, so it’ll be interesting to see what the space becomes. It appears most deck parties have been moved to the vast new pool deck area.

We did! It’s in the thread somewhere. It wasn’t as “perfect” as our experience was on the Dawn, but still a great dining experience. Q was a miss for us (food-wise), but I suspect it’ll improve as they work out the kinks on a brand-new concept for them.

Back in the room finalizing the Scavenger Hunt (“Running of the Bliss”) for tomorrow.

Later today we have the Mystery Gift Exchange reveal event, and then we’ll be crashing DB2 for an impromptu Oktoberfest at 4 PM.

That's disappointing. It was our favorite area on the Getaway and Escape.

Any chance - after you’ve finished - that you’d share the scavenger hunt for those of us sailing in the future??

I will ALWAYS leave the casino for an 80s party! (I danced for over 2.5 hours!!)

I’m not really much for writing reviews, but I’m happy to answer any casino questions you might have!

Do they have the "Sumo Kitty" and "Haunted House" slot machines in the Bliss casino?

I know that bartender!!! She over served me a few too many in the Haven on Escape. :)

She is awesome!!!

I do too! Jelica is the absolute best bartender ever!! I hope she stays on the Bliss until our Panama Canal cruise in March of 2019. She made many new drinks that I had never had on the Escape on our B2B cruises in January.

I don’t think I posted this earlier - but here are our invitations that we delivered on Day 1 that show all the events...

And for anybody that didn’t request one (or changed cabins without notifying us), we offered a handout-version at the M&G...

We’ve attempted to design all of our events to be “for the masses”, to support whoever shows up regardless of whether or not they registered. Hence the 300 slot pull tickets & unique format. Several of the events are being run by members of the group, and we helped out just by doing the registrations & venue requests.

WOW!! you have put in a tremendous amount of work. I appreciate you using your valuable vacation time to share so munch information with everyone. This has made me want to book the Encore TA even more now. With any luck the group will be very active like the one you have this trip. Enjoy your vacation.

What a great report! Thanks for taking us along. Another Rochesterian here- from Webster where life is worth living :P

I've read entire thread and it's incredible how much useful info you've given.Much better than NCL. We're booking for Sept. 2018 and I appreciate the tip on room booking:

"Two things... room location is KEY on the big ships. For Bliss, you want to be just off the forward elevators, which are nearly mid-ship, between decks 10 and 13. This location will quickly shrink the megaship, and you’ll be steps away from all"

Folks, search thread before asking questions-seriously! 56 pages of info; it's probably been answered! Though I am curious about public bathrooms mid ship hehe

Besides the chair hogs, the other thing that disgusted me was pictures of people sleeping on the beautiful OL furniture with their shoes off. Dirty feet ALL OVER the brand new couches and chairs. I hope those people see this review and are embarrased! Why do people think it's ok to use public spaces as their personal bedroom?

It really is a sad commentary how basic manners and consideration for other people are lacking in some people.

They did on the Escape. Amazing Beatles tribute band

I am a huuuuuuuge Beatles fan and I will never miss an opportunity to go to a Cavern Club. The show on the "Epic" is a night I will never forget. I saw people from 8 to 80 dancing to Twist and Shout and many others. The Beatles really transcends all age groups. It was amazing. I really enjoyed all of the back stories behind every song they played.

Noooo! Spice was my favorite place on the Escape. Always reasonably quiet during the day with great parties at night.

Been following along..it is my nightly entertainment and only adds to our excitement. Agree with everyone else about this being a better promo for ship than the one ncl produced. At that having been said, we are booked in 14154, and this will be the largest ship we have been on, in your opinion, would you recommend this location? We get we are right off the elevators, but haven't had any noise issues in similar locations on other ships, and are willing to risk it. As we are both prone to seasickness, midship is best option. And balcony because why not, and only way to see Alaska...

At some point would love to learn how to do a scavenger hunt and how to set up a pub crawl on a ship...

Wow, I will be in 14148 in October. Close to the elevator and close to the Observation Lounge. I can just run up and get a drink and come back to my cabin and enjoy the balcony.
