Book now or wait?

Recommended Posts

Usually when I go on a cruise I book a few months ahead but this time I am thinking of going on a cruise leaving September 16th 2018 from Newcastle, Diamonds Chocolates and Canals.

Would you leave booking it until the week before it sailed since it is only 9 weeks to go?

Depends how keen you are to do this cruise. If you really want to go on it book now. If it’s a nice to have but you won’t mind if it sells out then wait.

It also depends on how many cabins are left in the grade you want.

We made the mistake of booking a cruise about 8 weeks before and the very next week it went down by hundreds of pounds. That said we wanted to do it so got what we wanted (at a cost).

Also consider if you want AI because they stop selling it after a certain % of passengers have a package, particularly on a shorter cruise.

That's what happened to me, I was speaking to someone on my last cruise who had booked it 3 days before they sailed and they paid less compared to what I paid and they were on a higher deck in an outside cabin.

It must have been a cancelation.
