Temperature on the North Atlantic in April

We are on the QE Transatlantic from Ft. Lauderdale to Southampton via New York leaving March 27th. I find multiple sites with water temperature which is interesting but unimportant to me. Does anyone have any insight into what temperatures to expect in April? Trying to plan our wardrobe and suspect the temperature to be much cooler than on land.

I have done a March crossing and it was temperate enough to be on deck with a light windcheater but you should be aware that in the North Atlantic the weather changes at the drop of a hat. Leave the Hawian shirts in Florida! :)

Temps will generally be in the high 30's to the 40's. Pretty chilly indeed. Do bring approprate clothing when venturing on deck. The deck may be closed of(frequently)during this time.

It can get a bit windy - it can also get very windy !

We cruised the North Atlantic on the QM ll in November a few years back and the weather was terrible. We hoped for nicer weather and warmer temperatures in April but not sure if it ever gets warm over the ocean.

The temperature can vary between cold, cool, warm and quite warm. There is no way to tell other than to go. One week may be totally different to the last as can one day. Layers of clothing is the answer and if it is just too cold or windy, stay in and have lunch in the pub.
