allowed or not, we always bring one, never an issue

That's why companies make rules. So folks like you can ignore them and possibly ruin things for everyone else.

Special people who think they can do as they please.

Is this a Carnival thing? We've always brought our travel steamer onboard on RCI and never had an issue.

I can't answer for RCI. They are specifically noted on Carnival's prohibited items list. They are considered to be a fire hazard.

"ruin thing for everyone else" ruin what? get over your high horse, bet you never exceeded the speed limit either. We are adults, safe, steam clothes, unplug, let rest and put away. We all break a lot of life's rules. Ever have two drinks in a restaurant and drive home? Being .08 is not drunk, but it exceeds the "rules" Ever hear of glass houses, put the rocks down

Carnival considers them a fire hazard therefore they are prohibited. The #1 Concern on a ship is Fire. Even though you are careful using the steamer there may be a wiring problem that you are unaware of that could cause a spark or power surge while using it which could cause a fire. May be a small possibility but why put several thousand people at risk just so you can wear wrinkle free clothes that no one really cares are wrinkled or not

The only high horse here is you. You are jeopardizing everyone else on that ship by playing by your own rules. Adults don't put others at risk. You are being childish.....your dong what you want to do damn the rules.....who care about wrinkles.....your on vacation.

FOLLOW THE RULES AND KEEP US ALL SAFE!

A search gets me old threads. Can these be brought onboard? Thanks

We always bring a small one in our carry-on and never had any issues getting it on-board. Of course there will come that one cruise where we will be asked to leave it behind and leave-it-behind we will.
