Activity level?

My husband will be turning 65 this year and is an avid sailor and windsurfer but doesn't care for the idea of a cruise. He thinks he'll be bored. I'm trying to talk him into a Star Clipper cruise because they offer activities that he would enjoy. Can anyone share their experience with the water activities offered on the cruise? I know he'd enjoy the sailing experience offered by this type of cruise. We're looking at Tahiti or Caribbean around Christmas and would welcome any information previous cruisers can provide.

Also, any tips on finding reasonable airfare for Tahiti or Barbados from Boston?

We completed a back to back Med from Athens on Star Clipper in May 2009.

We did many of the shore excursions that were offered. Also on some of the port calls may husband spent time sailing one of the small sail boards. There was also wind surfers available.

Age for the trip will depend on you physical condition. We had at least 2 in their eights. Most in Mid 40- 70's. There were a few younger 16 - 25 year olds.

We really enjoyed the daily talks from the cruise director. Topics: History of sailing, History of area we were visiting, development of the clipper ships, and other topics.

Also no formal clothes needed and no coats or ties for men at night.

There are no shows or casinos.
