Purchasing Cheers Separately

Probably something that can be done if you call Carnival directly.

Have you made final payment yet? If not, one of you could pay the entire cost of the Cheers and the other could make up the difference by paying their share of the final payment plus their share of the Cheers, and the other would have a smaller final payment to make up the difference.

Nope. That's just Carnival enforcing their "all-or-none" policy on Cheers. The easiest way is for one of you to pay for it with a credit card and get cash from the other one. If you wait until you board, the price, of course, goes up.

Hi there, my roommate and I want to purchase cheers. Can we not purchase separately. It wants to put both cheers together on 1 credit card. We want to put on our own credit card separately.

An obscure option could be for each of you to purchase Carnival gift cards, with your individual credit cards. And if you could buy discounted cards, say through AARP on another discounted site, you can even save about 10% on the cost of Cheers. But that would allow you each to pay separately before boarding and pay the pre-cruise rate, and maybe save a little more if you bought discounted gift cards. You can use multiple gift cards to pay for Cheers online pre-cruise. A little cumbersome, but gets the job done.

Ooohh! Great idea. My sisters and I are planning to purchase for our cruise in late June but I was wondering how we'd be able to do that. Thanks!

I don't understand why you can't use separate credit cards for CHEERS when you can use separate cards to pay for the cruise. I will be on the Paradise in July & am rooming with my adult daughter. We planned to purchase CHEERS, but I just assumed we could pay separately. She keeps saying she's going to get it for both of us because I'm treating her to the cruise, but I don't want her to do that.

At least it's only a 4 day cruise, so one of us will have to pay & get the $$ from the other. Just seems strange that two people rooming together can't pay separately. I get that it's the whole everyone has to purchase, but why not allow 2 cards to be used as long as you're ordering it at the same time? I know if it weren't my daughter or other close family, I would not be comfortable paying on my card for someone else's CHEERS.

You're asking the wrong "experts". You should be asking Carnival directly.

You can use as many credit cards as you want. Call the 1800 number and use extension 70039 (Fun Shopps).

Be advised, once you purchase the cheers program, you are locked into a MAX of 15 alcoholic beverages a day 24 hours 6am-6pm). I am contemplating purchasing it but am worried about the "pour-quality" and running out of drinks on Sea day.

Thanks

What are you worries about? What do you mean pour quality, you're standing right there. We thought the pours were quite generous. I watched him pour 3 full shots in my Belvedere martini, extra olives please. Yes, we always tip.

Yes, find a favorite bartender and tip extra each drink. I was getting triples of Jamesons for each Cheers drink I ordered all week long.

So add a tip to each drink for cheers? What does that bring the total to... about $90 a day per person?

If you tip $1-$2 with each drink, you're out another $15-$30/day. But, your pours tend to be more generous and the roving bartenders get back to you much more quickly (usually before you finish your drink). Even at $30 more per day, it would come to $81.95/day

Exactly. One evening I was playing Blackjack and got up to stretch my legs and get another drink. There were about 40-50 people around the casino bar, 2 to 3 deep. I walked up behind the crowd, made eye contact with my bartender and she says, "Mr. Greg....Jamesons" and proceeds to pour it before all the others waiting.

The guy next to me looked incredulous and said "She served you as soon as you walked up. She knows your name and your drink? How much have you spent here?" pointing at the Casino. I just smiled, grabbed my triple-shot drink from the bartender, signed for an extra $2 and walked back to the table.

I remember reading toy can get around the 15 drink limit if, when you get to 14 drinks, start paying for drinks oop instead of on cheers. Use your 15th cheers drink as last drink of day. They don't cut you off until you max out cheers, regardless of how many extra drinks you buy oop for "someone else"

I never did this, just read it here awhile back.

It's so funny. I drink every night at home, but I never buy cheers. I don't drink near as much on a cruise as I do at home so it never makes sense financially. I will say, I have never been disappointed about a pour on a ship. I drink bourbon on the rocks and even the singles are better than you will get at any restaurant around here.

No pour quality at the Alchemy Bar. And if you're a beer drinker, 25 oz Fosters Oil Cans count as one drink.
