What to do in St Thomas (local/non-beach ideas!)

Hey CC’ers! Need ideas for things to do in St Thomas. It is the last stop on our April cruise and we’re looking for a break from the beach, so hoping for something a little unique. Thanks in advance!

No kids! We’re a late twenties couple & up for just about anything. We will have excursions planned at 4 other ports and will have had plenty of beach time, so looking for something different on St Thomas.

You could do a local food tour with St Thomas Food Tours.

Many non beach attractions have not yet reopened after the storm so your options are limited for now.

We are doing an ecotour in the mangrove swamps. Kayaking, hiking, and snorkeling.

The company offering the kayak hike snorkel is VI Ecotours. Their excursions are also offered through most ships, but you can also book on your own on a separate tour.

Blackbeard's Castle is just up the hill from the east end of town (above the flea market). Nice swimming pools and shops and great place for amber (amber waterfall and museum). Used to have a shipwreck artifact shop and rum making but didn't see these on our last trip. No idea if it is open, though. St Thomas is mostly beaches and shopping.

Went up to the Castle in Feb and they said they will be closed permanently as they received extensive damage from the hurricanes and it would cost too much and take too long to get a return on investment. It’s a real shame as the place was great

After several land vacations on St. Thomas, I would recommend parasailing then Red Hook.

Virgin Island Ecotours. We booked through them directly to pick a different time and different duration than the ship excursion (didn't want the added lunch)
