We will be on a tight time schedule and are wondering what is the best and fastest way to get from the cruise terminal to the airport including suggestions for private car services. Thanks much for any advice you can give.

We're flying from Venice to Bari at 11:20 a.m. that morning.

I misread your original question...thought you were flying into Venice that day. My error.

There is a thread on the Italy board discussing this exact question. 11:20 is very early...first question would be is your ship arriving that day, or the day before?

Again, tons of info on the Italy board.

We arrive by ship at 6:45 that morning and then will fly to Bari at 11:20 to catch our next cruise. There is only 1 flight that will get us to Bari in time, so no choice of scheduling it later. Just not sure about the logistics of getting off the ship, getting to airport, etc.

Again, this is very tight. You may need to consider taking the flight the next day. Did you book the flight before you knew the logistical issues?

The logistics are actually very simple. You take a regular land taxi (or pre booked transfer) from the port to the airport. The drive generally takes about 20-25 minutes. Taxis in the port can be overwhelmed by demand if a ship is disembarking lots of passengers, so there is something to say for pre-booking (online) a taxi or transfer.

If you can easily handle your own luggage, have no problems walking (and rolling your luggage) then there is another less costly option. Use the free port shuttle bus to get to the People Mover Station (the bus gets you pretty close) and then you take the Peole Mover (1.5€ per person) over to the Piazale Roma Station where you walk about 100 yards to the bus area. From there you can catch the express ATVO bus (every 20 min) directly to the airport.
