Ours was the 15-day Transatlantic eastbound sailing on the Carnival Legend on 4/7/2013.

Paid $339 each including port charges/taxes/fees....Carnival also kicked in $250 nonrefundable onboard credit.

Please keep it related to Carnival cruises only.

Thanks.

We had a bargain on the Carnival Magic Transatlantic with a lot of onboard credit and I’ve been offered a couple fantastic Princess short cruises on deeply discounted casino rates that we took advantage of.

When the Carnival VIFP Offers started gaining popularity in 2013 and 2014 where Carnival offered several completely free (excluding taxes) or deeply discounted cruises, we received several of those offers but declined as we preferred to sail another line at that time.

Our maiden cruise, a 5 day out of Galveston, was shortened to a 3 day to nowhere due to an approaching hurricane. We were given %50 off our next cruise in 'compensation', and were able to use that credit to book a suite.

4 day cruise on the Valor this past November was $25/person plus taxes and port fees. They also gave us a $50 OBC, basically meaning my husband and I got to cruise for just the taxes and port fees. Fingers crossed they do that again this year! :D

Almost three months ago I did a 7-night Southern Carribean on the Fascination (St Kitts, St Maarten, St Thomas, St Lucia, Barbados, Antigua) for $399 per person, including fees, plus the $50 obc. Hard to get a vacation that good, in an economy this good.

Ours was a 7 day Western Caribbean on the Splendor for 4, it was 1200 total, back in Nov 2014. Of course that was one interior room for us and our two teenage sons.

Never again will we share a cabin with teenagers. We about died, it was so hot in that room.

This made me LoL:'). I would never share a room with two teenage sons. It makes me want to jump of the ship just thinking about it:'). I still love them just not sharing a cabin.

We went on the Southern Caribbean cruise out of Puerto Rico when the Valor was still there. We were originally booked in a balcony in November and I guess they were having a hard time filling up the ship so we started getting major price drops. Then, I received an upsale call to upgrade to a suite for $400. I had enough OBC from price drops at that point so I jumped on it.

TL;DR Ended up in a suite on the Valor for right under $1,000 total.

I'm sure this is why they put a smaller ship there. :(

We did a five night Western cruise from New Orleans maybe five or six years ago for about $700, including air. This was for a balcony cabin (two people) in a good location. Not likely to be able to do that again... ever. I haven't seen any real bargains, cruise or air, in quite some time. Cabins are being filled pretty easily nowadays, as are plane seats apparently.

Wow! What a deal.

How'd you get it?

Was that something that anyone could have taken advantage of, or was it just for "certain" people?

It was a unique circumstance. They had just instituted the loyalty program, we were one of two couples on the ship that were platinum. They had a “situation” where they had 3 people in an ocean view that slept two and they put in a rollaway which they refused (inside room). Our old room was a sleep 3 oceanview. They moved us to the owner suite and them to our room. When I asked they said they were not putting this family in the owners suite so they went to the two plats on the ship. My last name came before the other plat alphabetically......so

Just curious how many of you get these amazing deals. Do you have to book last minute to find rates like many of you mentioned and is it usually for interior cabins? Thanks!

I think you'll find that the answer from each person is different, for example, casino offer, last minute deal, etc... In our case, it was a last minute deal, sort of (about a month in advance) and it was during a slow time, a few days before Thanksgiving. Casino offers and such aside, the time of the year is the biggest difference in pricing. Last minute deals aren't what they used to be, since most ships are already full or almost full, nowadays, a week or two prior to sail date, if not earlier.

As a solo cruiser, I have to pay for the whole cabin, a single supplement of 100%.

By some sort of miracle, I was able to book a back to back (eastern and western 7 day cruises) in a very large outside cabin 2477 aboard the Liberty without paying this single supplement in January 2014. It was an amazing experience. I felt like I got two cruises for the price of one!
