Freedom of the Seas drydock

So, I wasn't able to get answers to all of your questions. The quickness of it all, being with my old friend and the free drinks may have impacted my focus. . .

But, this is what I do have.

Olive and Twist is still there, it is the main dancing/party venue.

Sabor and Giovanni's were added and Chops is still there- those are the pay venues.

Not all rooms were updated.

Card room is still card room, no signs of any reno to it to make it anything else.

Cupcake Cupboard is next to Ben and Jerry's.

The "sweet" is still there.

I will upload the pictures to my blog. Will I be able to post the link here?

We sailed in the Brilliance last month and the only issues we had were the very hard sway back beds. We asked the stateroom attendant for an egg crate topper - she said they don't have them anymore.

The pics in the link in the post on page 56 clearly shows the sway back mattresses. We are on the 4/19 sailing of the Freedom and I am hoping they replaced the mattress.

I found my bed (in an inside cabin, not pictured) to be very comfortable. It had a layer of foam with a reg mattress underneath. The bed wasn't hard at all.

Hi all,

Sorry it has taken me so long to post. When I got to Orlando I met up with an old friend and I just wanted to enjoy the weekend and not be glued to my phone. Once I got home, I was so tired from cramming a 7 night cruise into 2, that I slept for 14 hours! I will take a look now and see if I can answer any questions that haven't been answered yet.

Bottom line, they did an amazing job. Everything was ready and wonderful and the spoiled us rotten with unlimited free drinks!

Did you get a look at the new deck 12 staterooms?

lol 3 different answers, love it.

Aquarium Bar/Boleros/In front of the Casino on Deck 4... Perfect, my wife will love spending some time there when we cruise next year (I know, already talking about a cruise 12 months away).

One thing that bugged me a bit about the Oasis was that everything shut down around 11pm to midnight. Not saying I am a night owl by any means, but it would have been nice to have some places to hang out if we didn't want to call it a night shortly after the 8:30 dinner seating. I'm hoping clubs on the Freedom stay open a bit later than that.

Yeah, but I gave you the correct one.;):p

Correct, the Classic option is a part of Dynamic Dining - it is to give those who enjoy traditional dining a way to do that within the Dynamic Dining program. Those programs, as he described them, are one and the same with "Classic" being an option within Dynamic Dining.

Yay!! I am so thrilled to hear that Royal is keeping the Classic Dining option available with the Dynamic Dining program.

We are planning a family cruise in June 2016 with 21 family members (ages 12 months to 81 years). We like to all be able to dine together each evening to catch up on our daily adventures and that did not appear to be feasible within the original Dynamic Dining program.

So glad they are listening!!

Who are the Captain and the Cruise Director?

Is Sabor really there as people have said they couldn't make reservations for it.

Was she up to full speed?

Thanks for all you gave us!!

Cheryl

Captain Ron Holmes and Cruise Director Casey Pelter

She is up to full speed. Someone reported her cruising speed at 21 knots a day or so ago via Marine Traffic.

Sabor is really there. Ive seen pictures and it looks great :)

We had the same thing in our JS when we sailed on FOS in September. I thought it was comfortable; like a memory foam topper.

Thanks for taking the time to take pictures and sharing your blog with us.

I saw, at least according to marinetrafficdotcom that she hit that speed leaving Freeport coming back to Canaveral. i was watching her leave Canaveral Sunday and never saw her get about 16. Unfornately the updates stopped. I will check on that again. I don't remember if she is on Eastern or Western this week.
