Tampa cruise terminal to Tampa airport?

Anyone know the distance and taxi time to get to the airport from the cruise terminal??

I've been told 15-20 min and about 8 miles

I worked shore services for Holland America in Tampa for several years. Taxi is the best way to go to the airport $10 to $20 depending on traffic. The airport is only 6 - 8 miles depending on the route.

In Nov of 2011 we were at the buffet when they called the easy walk off at 7:15. We went through customs and took a taxi for 4 to the airport, went through customs and was at our gate at 8:00 for a 10:55 flight. Very easy and fast.

Taxi from the port to TPA is a flat rate fare of $25+tip and takes about 15 minutes. Good luck! :)
