We are on a cruise that will make several port calls in French Polynesia ending in Tahiti. For taxis, particularly in Tahiti where we have to get to the airport and and small food and souvenir-type purchases (our shore excursions are prepaid) will US dollars be accepted or should we bring XPF?

USD accepted for most taxi's. Check first and get a rate is USD and then decide if it is okay. The exchange rate is variable by vendor for USD. If you have Euro's hanging around, there is a defined exchange rate for that. Most tourist places will accept USD. You may get change in XPF. ATM's are there is you have to pay for something larger in XFP. We worried but it was all rather easy.
