TexasRed Posted November 18, 2017 #451 Share Posted November 18, 2017 Costa Maya sure has changed since I was there last, it will be a stop on our next cruise in October 2018. I noticed you had President's butter packets on your table, did you have to ask for them, or have they gone back to serving it with their yummy bread? beshears Posted November 18, 2017 #452 Share Posted November 18, 2017 Yes, when we will be taking the Magic for the first time, we will be stopping at Costa Maya as well. Hopefully we will find good things there to see, and possibly do. I'm not a "nit picky" person as some people are, so the pros/cons I read from others, I don't let it influence me much, just get a general idea, and go from there.:):)
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 18, 2017 Author #453 Share Posted November 18, 2017 Costa Maya sure has changed since I was there last, it will be a stop on our next cruise in October 2018. I noticed you had President's butter packets on your table, did you have to ask for them, or have they gone back to serving it with their yummy bread? One evening Patti thought that the butter spread tasted a little off and requested the packets. From then on we received the packets every evening. Yes, when we will be taking the Magic for the first time, we will be stopping at Costa Maya as well. Rare Jamman54 Posted November 18, 2017 Author #454 Share Posted November 18, 2017 Patti pointed out to me that I should have given some information regarding this picture she took at Costa Maya, and of course she is right. This is part of the Lost Mayan Kingdom Adventure Park. As you can see, they have waterslides. They also have zip lines, a lazy river, and other cool things. Carnival sells this excursion for $99.95 per person for adults (13+), and $84.95 per person for children. I also included this picture of one of the zip line towers. We've asked for it on our past two Carnival cruises....it was on the table every night after we asked....so much better than the other stuff they are using now:D

Crusin Karen Posted November 18, 2017 #458 Share Posted November 18, 2017 I don't want to highjack or "derail" this awesome review, but have never been to Costa Maya and IDK what problems you all are talking about. It looks great; a gorgeous pool and many things to do right at the port.:confused: Jamman, Patti looks fantastic!
beshears Posted November 18, 2017 #459 Share Posted November 18, 2017 I'm about 1/4 way through your review, and it, along with all the wonderful pictures are great!:) You may have already posted this, but I see where you used a tender for Belize. Was the tender used at any of the other ports/islands on the Magic cruise? For me, I like to be prepared, as I know that takes time away from being at the actual port/island. Rare Jamman54 Posted November 18, 2017 Author #461 Share Posted November 18, 2017 Day # 7 - FunDay at Sea # 2 - 10/13/17. We awoke at 8am to a sunny day with calm seas. Here are today’s Fun Times….. We hung around the cabin for a while until Patti decided that she was going to have breakfast at the Taste Bar and then head to the shops for a little shopping. I felt like having the breakfast of champions again, so after a stop at the Blue Iguana Cantina, I settled in at the Red Frog Rum Bar……. I noticed that it had gotten cloudy out, and from my perch at the RFRB I then watched the masses abandon their loungers and run for cover as the Carnival Magic sailed through the heart of a pouring rainstorm….. To be continued…….
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 18, 2017 Author #462 Share Posted November 18, 2017 I was perfectly happy being dry on the outside and getting wetter on the inside. Here are my buds from the RFRB who were happy that I would be joining them again next week……. A couple of times this week I had the pleasure of talking to a couple of CC friends. It was great meeting you! Around noon I met Patti back at the cabin where we found today’s towel creature along with the B2B information that we would need for tomorrow….. We decided to head to Cucina for lunch today and this time we drew # 2….. This is my filled out menu….. To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 18, 2017 Author #463 Share Posted November 18, 2017 We both had the Caesars salad……. I had my usual penne pasta with sausage, mushrooms shrimp, tomatoes, and peppers with meat sauce…… Patti had the linguini with Alfredo sauce….. Afterwards, we both went to the casino to enter the slot tournament, once again using our BOGO entries. I had no shot, but Patti finished as the 6th highest qualifier and made the finals.….. These are the prizes that await the winners, plus $500 and a seat in the $100,000.00 finals……. The casino host explains the rules….. To be continued…….. Rare Jamman54 Posted November 18, 2017 Author #464 Share Posted November 18, 2017 The slot finals are about to begin. Patti chooses machine # 2….. Ready, set, go!!! Two minutes in and it’s already apparent that Patti is lagging behind…… Any day could be your lucky day, but today isn’t the day for Patti who finished next to last. Tough luck babe, but at least you made the finals, and Ryan will appreciate the t-shirt that you were given! We made our way back to the cabin to relax before going to the VIFP Diamond / Platinum Party. We noticed that on our balcony was a stowaway from Costa Maya. We hope it enjoys it’s new home in Port Canaveral….. To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 18, 2017 Author #465 Share Posted November 18, 2017 Here are our VIFP Party invites….. The party was held in the Showtime Theater……. Viviana played her guitar for us….. Rare Jamman54 Posted November 18, 2017 Author #466 Share Posted November 18, 2017 Our Cruise Director Mat Seguin was the Master of Ceremonies….. After the usual ship video, Mat brought the Senior Staff members on stage for introductions…… That’s Calvin on the left who is the Magic’s Entertainment Director….. This is the Hotel Director Donato Becce, who we had met several times before on the Splendor….. Captain Antonio Marchetti says a few words….. Mat has all the Diamond members go up on stage….. To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 18, 2017 Author #467 Share Posted November 18, 2017 We posed for a group picture. This was Patti’s version….. That’s me in the back….. This is the official group picture which was given to us for free….. We stayed until the bitter end. Patti liked the curtain in the theater….. The Polaris Trio plays in the Atrium…. The sun is going down on this cruise…… Now normally this would be the time we finished packing, but since we are back in the same cabin on next week’s cruise we don’t have to worry about it. Yesssss!!! We make our way up to the Cloud 9 Spa to relax before dinner. The Thalassotherapy Pool is closed for “deep cleaning”, which means someone got sick in the pool! We enjoyed the thermal loungers, and I spent time in the aroma therapy steam room. It’s all good! To be continued……

Rare Jamman54 Posted November 18, 2017 Author #469 Share Posted November 18, 2017 Patti didn’t feel like dessert tonight, but I had the cherry pie….. Afterwards we took a short stroll around the ship, and then we made our way back to the cabin for the night. This is always a sad sight to see, but we smiled knowing that our luggage wasn’t going anywhere tonight! Coming up next: Turnaround Day, or let’s do it again with some more CC friends!!! Rare Jamman54 Posted November 19, 2017 Author #473 Share Posted November 19, 2017 Day # 8 - PortCanaveral ( 8am to 4pm ) - 10/14/17. We were awoken shortly before 6am by the vibrations as Captain Marchetti eased the Carnival Magic into her berth at Port Canaveral. The Disney Fantasy was already docked….. We went back to sleep for a little while, and then we went up to the Lido Marketplace Around 8:30 for breakfast. The debarkation process was well underway, so the omelet line was very short. Our breakfast today….. Afterwards, we went to the Atrium to watch the people we had sailed with the past week depart….. To be continued……
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 19, 2017 Author #474 Share Posted November 19, 2017 I’m watching the people depart…… Goodbye!! Have a safe trip home!! At 9:45 am, we made our way to the Northern Lights Dining Room as instructed….. They had coffee, tea, juice, and snacks available….. They took our old sail & sign cards so they could zero us out, and then issued us our new cards. They did give us our old cards back. We then went into the Atrium to get our group picture taken with Mat….. To be continued……
Rare Jamman54 Posted November 19, 2017 Author #475 Share Posted November 19, 2017 A little after 10am we were led off the ship, into the terminal, and then to the baggage claim area to visit customs. We had to wait 10 minutes until the last of the departing passengers was gone, and then we showed the customs agent our passports and we were escorted right back onto the ship. As we approached the gangway we could see a line of departing crew members who were waiting to get processed. I guess that couldn’t happen until we were back on the ship. Once back on board we were treated to mimosas and then we were free to roam the ship. Here are Patti and I enjoying our mimosas along with the rest of the gang….. Now that we are officially back on board, here are today’s Fun Times….. To be continued…..
